Grant by Ralph de Tyvill to Hugh, the abbot, and the convent of Ramsey, of a tenement with appurtenances in Gravenhurst, Eye, Suthlingdon, and Pekesden, and the tenement which Elena, relict of Hugh de Tyvill, uncle of Ralph, held in dower in the same places (except one acre of land farmed to Roger Wythbred before this agreement), for ten years or until the abbot and convent have received ten complete crops therefrom, stubble not being counted a crop. Obligation of Nicholas de la Penne, of Gravenhyrst, to pay the abbot of Ramsey the yearly rent of 8s. he owes for eight acres of land he holds of the fee of Robert Bryan in Gravenhyrst Parva, and to quitclaim all the land the abbot and convent have bought of Ralph de Tyvylle, of the fee of Robert Bryan, of all demands that could be made thereupon. Confirmation by William de Cantilupe to the chapel in his court of Eyton, of the grant made to it by his father, William de Cantilupe, of a messuage and 12 acres of land in Eyton, 6 measures of wheat yearly, and 22 solidates of annual rent; with a further grant of 50s. yearly, to support a second chaplain, and of a croft to keep a lamp burning in the chapel; with stipulations as to the appointment and support of the two chaplains. For this grant the canons have paid four silver marcs. Release by Ralph de Tyville to the church of the Blessed Mary and St. Benedict of Ramsey, and the abbot and convent there, of all his manor of Gravenhurst, with its appurtenances in Suthlingdon, Gravenhurst, Pekesden, and Meparteshale, on payment to him of 1d. [yearly] at Easter. For this grant the abbot and convent have paid him 250 marcs of silver.
