Indenture dated 20 March, 1 and 2 Philip and Mary, witnessing that Roger Wryght of Fulford has demised to Humphrey his brother and Elizabeth, Humphrey's wife, for 20s., a house or cottage called 'Knot Yarde Howse' and land in [Fulford] for fifty years or the life of the lessor, whichever is the shorter; rent, 3s. 4d.; the lessor to deliver all deeds concerning the premises which he can obtain without action at law. Declaration by William Danvers of Banbury, gentleman, that on being brought before the bishop of Ely, chancellor, and Sir Robert Bowes, master of the Rolls, at the suit of Thomas Wylkes, merchant of the Staple of Calais, in Michaelmas term, 6 Edward VI, he recognized his former depositions to them before Master Gosnold, the king's solicitor, and Mr. Smythe, gentleman, and deposed as to the signing of the will of Thomas Spenser of Hodnell and his intent therein. 27 December, 1553.
