Monday, March 14, 1658–9.
Mr. Speaker (fn. 1) came to the chair: and being sat, acquainted the House with the great distemper and indisposition that was upon him, and that he was unable to sit and do the House any service at the present, and therefore humbly prayed that he might be dismissed from the chair.
Resolved, that the House be adjourned until Wednesday morning next, and that notwithstanding the adjournment of the House, the several Committees of the House do meet and sit for the despatch of the affairs referred to, and depending before them respectively.
