Westminster.
To Michael de la Pole admiral of the fleet to the northward. Order, upon petition made on behalf of Robert de Selby merchant, to deliver to him by indenture containing the description and value thereof a crayer of Normandy and the men, goods and merchandise therein as marque or reprisal in part of damages hereinafter mentioned; as the said petition shews that the master and seamen of a ship of his called 'la George' coming therewith lately at the king's command to the river Thames took the said crayer laded with divers merchandise as marque or reprisal for that great number of goods and wares of his were after the late truce between the king and them of France taken at sea by men of Normandy, and brought the same safely to London with singular the men, goods and merchandise therein found, waiting to know the king's will in that behalf, and in consideration of the premises praying delivery thereof to the petitioner in part of his said damages; and he has paid 200 marks at the receipt of the exchequer.
