Windsor.
To the collectors of customs in the port of London. Order to deliver to Master Paul de Monte Florum, the king's clerk, or his attorney, 29 sacks of wool, by indenture, in part satisfaction of 1,000 sacks remaining of 2,000 sacks which the king gave him leave to take to parts beyond the sea, in part satisfaction of great sums which he lent to the king, and to permit him to take the wool to the said parts without paying custom or subsidy thereon, because the king wishes that of the 25 sacks and 40 cloves of wool, which Robert bishop of Chichester granted to him, and the 3 sacks and 34 cloves which the abbot of Westminster owes for part payment of a certain sum of money in which he is bound to the king, 29 sacks should be delivered to Paul. To the collectors of customs in the port of Boston. Order to deliver to Paul or his attorney 100 sacks of wool packed in canvas in part satisfaction of 400 sacks which the king ordered the collectors to permit him to take from that port to Andewerp [as at page 507 above]; and although his attorney delivered canvas for 100 sacks to Henry de Tyddeswell and Roger de Wolsthorp, collectors of the king's wool in co. Lincoln, yet the collectors delay to deliver the wool thus packed to the attorney.

To the sheriff of Essex and the other receivers of wool in that county. Order to deliver all the wool collected in that county to the merchants of the societies of the Bardi and Peruzzi, by indenture, containing the number of sacks, as although the king ordered him to send the wool to London, yet he wishes to avoid the expenses of taking it so long a distance.
