Woolmer.
To the collectors of the custom of wool, hides and wool-fells in the port of London. Order to permit William, marquis of Juliers and earl of Cambridge, or William Muschet, Tidemannus de Werda and Libertus Vaet, his attorneys, to lade in that port and take to parts beyond the sea 150 sacks of the wool of co. Bedford, 50 sacks of the wool of co. Huntingdon and 50 sacks of the wool of co. Cambridge, after he has paid ½ mark a sack for the custom [as in the order to the collectors of customs in the port of Boston above].

To the same. Order to permit Adam de Neubold, the king's clerk, or his attorney, to lade in that port and take to the staple in Flanders 5 sacks of wool, after paying ½ mark a sack for the custom, as the king is bound to him in 10l. for his wages for the time when he was in the king's service in parts beyond the sea, as may fully appear by a bill in his possession under the seal of William de Cusancia, sometime keeper of the wardrobe, and the king granted that he should take 5 sacks in the form aforesaid, 40s. a sack for the subsidy being allowed to him in full satisfaction of the 10l. The Tower.
To the collectors of customs in the port of London. Order to permit Bartholomew de Burgherssh or his attorneys to lade in that port and take to the staple in Flanders, 14 sacks of his own wool after he has paid 20s. a sack for the residue of the subsidy and the custom thereon, in accordance with the king's grant to him, allowing 2 marks a sack of the subsidy to him, in part payment of his wages and those of his men about to set out with the king on his next passage to parts beyond the sea. To Richard de Hathelseye, the king's clerk, and the collectors of customs in the port of Sandwich. Order to permit Bartholomew de Burgherssh or his attorneys to lade 17 sacks of wool in that port and take them to the staple in Flanders, after paying a mark for each two sacks for the subsidy, allowing to him the remaining 2 marks in part satisfaction of his wages and those of his men about to set out to parts beyond the sea, in accordance with the king's grant to him, although the king lately ordered them to permit Bartholomew to lade 17 sacks in that port and take them to the said parts, paying ½ mark a sack for the custom, 40s. a sack for the subsidy being allowed to him in part satisfaction of the said wages. To the collectors of customs in the port of Kingeston upon Hull. Order to pay to Henry Muddepenyng, Conrad de Affleu, John de Wold, Tidemannus de Lymbergh and their fellows, merchants of Almain, or to their attorneys, 1 mark a sack, 2 marks on each last of hides and 1 mark of every 300 wool-fells of the subsidy, of all wool, hides and fells taken from that port, in accordance with the king's grant, as in part satisfaction of divers sums in which the king is bound to those merchants he assigned to them 13s. 4d. on each sack of wool, 2 marks on each last and 13s. 4d. on every 300 fells of the subsidy granted by the merchants in the last treaty at Westminster, to be received until Midsummer next, except of the king's own wool of the 30,000 sacks granted in the last parliament, together with the custom of wool, hides and wool-fells, according to the form of an indenture made between the king and the merchants. The Tower.
To the collectors of the custom of wool, hides and wool-fells in the port of London. Order to pay to Adam de Neubold, the king's clerk, 10l. of the subsidy of 40s. which the merchants of the realm granted on each sack of wool taken out of that port, as the king is bound to Adam in 10l. for his wages for the time when he was in the king's service in parts beyond the sea, as may appear by a bill in his possession under the seal of William de Cusancia, sometime keeper of the wardrobe. The Tower.
To the collectors of customs in the port of Boston. Order to permit John de Wold and Tidemannus de Lymbergh, attorneys of William, marquis of Juliers and earl of Cambridge, to lade 182 sacks 18 stones 2¾ pounds of wool in that port and take them to parts beyond the sea, after paying ½ mark a sack for the custom, as by the certificate of Hugh de Betele and Simon de Bitryng, sometime collectors of customs in the port of Lenn, sent into chancery, it appears that of 795 sacks 11 stones 2¾ pounds of wool which the attorneys of the marquis ought to have laded in that port of the wool of cos. Cambridge, Huntingdon and Bedford, by reason of the king's orders to the collectors in that port, 82 sacks 18 stones 2¾ pounds still remain to be laded, and the said attorneys have surrendered to chancery to be cancelled the writ to the collectors of the custom of wool, hides and wool-fells in the port of London for lading 100 sacks of the wool of the aforesaid counties in that port.
Sept. 3.
Sandwich.
To Robert de Wymundwold, keeper of a part of the coket seal in the port of Great Yarmouth and to the collectors of customs there. Order to permit Thomas de Bello Campo earl of Warwick, who is about to set out to parts beyond the sea in the king's service with eighty men at arms and a hundred archers on horse, to lade 120 sacks of wool in that port and take them to the said parts after paying ½ mark a sack for the custom, as the king assigned to the earl 120 sacks of wool of co. Norfolk of the wool of the present year, at 6l. the sack, upon his own wages and those of his said men. By K.

To William de Gategang, keeper of the coket seal in the port of Southampton, and to the collectors of customs there. Order to permit Robert de Inkepenn, attorney of William de Cusanc[ia], the treasurer, to lade in that port and take to the staple in Flanders, without paying the custom and subsidy, 135 sacks of the king's wool of co. Dorset of those 240 sacks which the king lately assigned to William de Edyngton, keeper of the wardrobe, upon the expenses of the household, and which the said treasurer is about to send to Flanders for the king's benefit. To the collectors of the custom of wool, hides and wool-fells in the port of London. Order to permit Nicholas Bartlemeu and his fellows, merchants of Lucca, to lade in that port 100 sacks of the wool of co. Dorset, in part satisfaction of the debts in which he is bound to them, and take them to Flanders without paying the custom and subsidy thereon.

To the same. Order to permit John Portenare or his attorneys to lade in that port and take to Flanders, after paying ½ mark a sack for the custom, 28 sacks of the wool of co. Essex, for the past year, which the king assigned to him upon the redemption of the two crowns of Queen Philippa, and other debts in which the king is bound to him.

To the sheriff of Southampton. Order to cause a verderer for the forest of Chuyt to be elected in place of John Symanisu, who has no lands in the country and does not stay upon his office, as the king has learned.
June 25.
Woodstock.
To William de Ravendale, keeper of the hanaper of chancery. Order to deliver three charters of pardon, one for the men of Lenn, one for the men of Yarmouth and the third for all men, indicted for plundering a ship called 'la Tarryte,' which men are about to set out to sea at their own cost in the company of Robert de Morle, in the king's service, to Robert or to William de Playford, his clerk, quit of the fee which pertains to the king for the same. June 18.
Woodstock.
To Richard de Monte Caniso, escheator in cos. Essex, Hertford and Middlesex. Order to deliver to John son of Thomas de Crauford, 'barber,' a tenement in the parish of St. Clement Danes (Dacorum), without the bar of the New Temple, London, after taking security from him for rendering his reasonable relief at the exchequer, as the king has learned by inquisition taken by the escheator, that the tenement, which belonged to Thomas and is worth 6s. 8d. yearly, is held in chief in free socage by the service of rendering 18d. yearly at the exchequer, and that the custody of the land and heir of Thomas does not pertain to the king, because the custody of tenements held of the king in the said form ought to pertain to the nearest friends of the heirs to whom the tenements cannot come by hereditary law, and that John is Thomas's next heir and aged fourteen years, and the king has taken John's fealty.

June 25.
Woodstock.
To the collectors and receivers of wool for the present year in co. Stafford. Order to deliver to Ralph de Stafford or to his attorney 57 sacks of the said wool which the king assigned to him, by the advice of the council, for his wages for a quarter of a year, extended at 445l. because he undertook before the king and council to set out to Britanny in the king's service with fifty men at arms, including himself and two other bannerets, sixteen knights and thirty-one esquires, and fifty archers on horse, at the king's wages, the bannerets receiving 4s., the knights 2s., the esquires 12d. and the archers 6d. each daily. To the collectors and receivers of wool in co. Suffolk. Order to deliver to Robert de Artois or to his attorney 158 sacks of the king's wool for the present year, at 6l. the sack beyond the custom of ½ mark, which the king assigned to him for his wages and those of a hundred and twenty men at arms, including himself and four other bannerets, twenty-nine knights and eighty-six esquires, and a hundred and twenty archers, about to set out to Britanny in the king's service. Westminster.
To the collectors of wool in co. Suffolk for the present year. Order to deliver to William de Bohun, earl of Northampton or to his attorney, 200 sacks of wool, which the king assigned to him upon his wages and those of his men, about to set out to Britanny in his company in the king's service. Memorandum, that it was previously ordained by the council that the earl should have only 185 of the said 200 sacks and that the remaining 15 sacks should be reserved to the king, as is fully contained in a writ enrolled below.
July 23.
The Tower.
To the collectors and receivers of wool in co. Norfolk, for the present year. Order to deliver to Laurence de Hastynges, earl of Pembroke, or to his attorney 51 sacks of wool, assigned to him by the king, with the advice of the council, for his wages and those of sixty men at arms, including himself, two bannerets, twelve knights and forty-five esquires, and a hundred archers on horse, about to set out to parts beyond the sea in the king's service, to wit each sack at 6l. beyond the custom of ½ mark, the earl receiving for his wages 8s., each banneret 4s., each knight 2s., each esquire 12d. and each archer 6d. a day for their wages. Southampton for the present year, assigned to him by the king, with the advice of the council, upon the wages of himself, sixty men at arms, including himself, another banneret, fourteen knights and forty-four esquires, and sixty archers, about to set out to Gascony in the king's service, and the king ordered the collectors of that wool to deliver the 65 sacks to Hugh by indenture. To the collectors of wool for the present year in co. Suffolk. Order to deliver to William de Bohun, earl of Northampton, 185 sacks of wool, by indenture, and to supersede the livery to him of the remaining 15 sacks, as although the king assigned to him 200 sacks of the wool of that county upon his wages and those of his men about to set out to parts beyond the sea in the king's service, to wit, a sack at 6l. beyond the custom due, yet the king has caused the earl to be satisfied in another place for the price of 15 of the 200 sacks. July 16.
Westminster.
To the collectors of wool for the present year in co. Southampton. Order to deliver to Walter de Weston, receiver and keeper of the king's money and victuals to be sent to Gascony for the maintenance of the magnates and other lieges about to set out thither, 100 sacks of wool assigned to him by the king with the assent of the council, each sack of the price of 10l. so that he may be able to answer to the king for the price at which he may be able to sell them above the said 10l., in the said parts. To the collectors of wool in co. Stafford for the past year. Order to deliver to Henry earl of Derby or to his attorney 24 sacks 11 stones 3½ pounds of wool, by indenture, upon his wages, as with the advice of the council the king assigned to him 108½ sacks 7½ cloves of wool, at 8l. the sack, upon the wages of himself and two hundred men at arms, including the earl, five bannerets, fifty knights, a hundred and forty-four esquires, and of two hundred archers on horse, about to set out to parts beyond the sea in the king's service. To the receivers of wool in co. Stafford for the past year. Like order to deliver to the earl 84 sacks 5½ stones of the said 108½ sacks 7½ cloves of wool. By bill of the treasurer.
To the collectors and receivers of wool in co. Sussex for the present year. Like order to deliver to the earl or to his attorney 36 sacks of wool, assigned to him by the king with the assent of the council upon his wages and those of the aforesaid men. By bill of the treasurer.
The earl has a like writ, 'mutatis mutandis,' to the collectors and receivers of wool in co. Stafford for 76 sacks of wool at 8l. the sack.

To the collectors and receivers of wool in co. Sussex for the present year. Order to deliver to Matthew Canaceon or to his attorney 73 sacks 17⅓ cloves of wool at 6l. the sack, assigned to him by the king with the assent of the council in full payment of 1,000l. which the king ordained to be delivered to him in part payment of divers debts in which the king is bound to him.

Order to deliver to Walter de Mauny or to his attorney 29 sacks of wool of 68¼ sacks, assigned to him by the king with the assent of the council upon his wages and those of fifty men at arms, including himself as a banneret, twelve knights and thirty-seven esquires and of fifty archers, about to set out to parts beyond the sea in the king's service, at 6l. the sack beyond the custom of ½ mark due thereon, Walter taking 4s. a day for his wages, each knight 2s., each esquire 12d. and each archer 6d. The king has ordered the collectors of wool for the past year to deliver to Walter the remaining 39¼ sacks, by indenture, in the form aforesaid.

Order to deliver to Philip de Barde and Dinus Forset, merchants of the society of the Bardi, or to Peter Byny, Peter Renery, Lotrinus de Coloygn, Nicholas Mariny and Baukynus Belkary, fellows and merchants of that society, or to their attorneys, 400 sacks of wool at 7l. the sack, assigned to them by the king in part payment of divers great sums which Philip and Dinus and their fellows have previously lent to the king and have undertaken to pay to him.
