Oct. 22. Indenture between John Kebull on the one part and John Dale on the other, witnesseth that whereas John Kebull by indented charter dated at Anne Savage, 24 May, 19 Edward IV, granted John Dale and Gilbert Blake his manor of Anne Savage co. Southampton and all messuages, lands and tenements, rents, reversions and services therein, saving a messuage called 'Blaunchers,' to be held by the said John Dale and Gilbert, their heirs and assigns; and the said Gilbert, at instance of John Kebull, by charter dated 7 February that year (1480) released his rights therein to John Dale: by virtue of which the said John was enfeoffed in sole of the premises, to the intent that he and his assigns should levy and receive 9l. of the issues and profits of the manor yearly, until a debt of 200l. owing by John Kebull should be satisfied: and remain seised of the premises till payment thereof; but when the debt shall be discharged, then John Dale shall enfeoff John Kebull and Agnes his wife or their heirs male with the premises, with remainder to the right heirs of John Kebull; to which indenture each party has set his seal.

Gloucester, bequeathed by will to Elizabeth daughter of Thomas Canynges, alderman and grocer of London, late wife of John Holden, and the heirs of her body: which after her death descended to John Holden for term of his life; the said premises to be held by Robert Straunge etc. in capital demesne as of fee etc. And appointment of Robert Richart and Thomas Hardyng as his attorneys etc. to convey seisin of the same. Memorandum, that we William Swanne and Elizabeth my wife, daughter and heir of John Alburgh late mercer of London, by these presents, 26 October, 22 Edward IV, declare and grant that those persons enfeoffed in such messuages, lands and tenements as were of the said John Alburgh in London and elsewhere within the realm, to the use of me, the said Elizabeth and Margaret my sister: and all those persons that shall be enfeoffed in the said messuages to our use, shall make estate of the same unto such persons and to such use, as shall be declared by Anne wife of John Alburgh, and mother of us, Elizabeth and Margaret, at such time and whenever they shall be so required by the said Anne. May 24. Indenture between Richard son of Lewis Fitzlowys and William Capell esquires, witnesses that where Richard alienated his manors of West Thorndon, Feldhous and Gyngraff co. Essex to the yearly value of 1000 marks and all charges to Richard duke of Gloucester, who sold his interest therein to Queen Elizabeth, who sold hers to Thomas archbishop of Canterbury; afterwards the said Richard moved the said archbishop for the return of the said manors for the sum of 1000l.: and as he cannot raise this sum without the ruin of his heirs, it is now agreed between the parties that William Capell shall have in bargain the manors of Porters, Crekers and Umfreviles in Stebbyng, Much Salyng and Felstede co. Essex, with lands called 'Holtes' and 'Wilchers' in Little Salyng for the sum of 1000l. whereof 200 marks is paid in hand and five marks paid to Henry earl of Essex at the desire of Richard Fitzlowys by assignation of the cardinal. And William has found security for the residue of the sum due to the cardinal; in consideration of which the latter has caused an estate of the said manors of West Thornton, Feldhous and Gyngraff to be made to Richard and his heirs with certain remainders. And Richard will cause all persons enfeoffed in his use in the above manors in Stebbyng, Much Salyng and Felstede to ensure the same to William Capell by fine, recovery or otherwise at cost of both parties. And he and Alice his wife will rear such fine before the justices of the common Bench at Westminster, with warranty against the abbot of Westminster and his successors: and he will deliver to William all charters and muniments in his possession concerning the manors of Porters etc. before the Nativity of St. John Baptist next: and William shall enjoy all issues and profits therefrom as from Easter last.
