Condition, that if John Pynke, merchant and owner of a ship called the 'Christopher' of Bristol, Denis Bracy, late owner of a ship called the 'Levenard' of Bristol, and Richard Fuson, their factors or attorneys, give the effect of the matter of their bill of complaint put by them to the king against Harman Skull or Skowlt, master of the 'Christopher of Hamborough' and other merchants etc. comprized in the same bill concerning the robbery of the two ships and goods in Ireland last summer, or against any other that did it by command of the said Harman etc. to be good and true: and if they prove it not, and the said John Pynke, Richard and Denys perform as the king and the lords of his council shall ordain and award, then this same recognisance shall be voided or else etc. English.

Indenture between John Bamme, on the one part, and Ralph Astry, fishmonger of London, on the other part, witnesseth that where John late caused William Heryot and other feoffees in fee simple to his use to make a lease for sixty years to the prior and convent of Holy Trinity Chrystechurche, London, of a messuage called 'The Shoppes' in All Hallows parish in the Ropery, another at the corner of Bredstrete nex Westchepe, tenant Robert Bradshawe goldsmith, another in St. Peters Westchepe, tenant Thomas Capron goldsmith, a rent of 6s. 8d. out of a messuage of the prior of St. Mary Elsyng hospital in St. Laurence Lane Old Jewry, and the rent of 10s. out of a messuage, tenanted by John Marchall mercer in the same lane, a rent of 6s. out of another in St. Michael Quenehithe, tenant Thomas Parker 'iremonger,' half a messuage called the 'Lyon Kay' in St. Botulph's Belyngesgate, a quarter of a messuage called the 'Dyce Kay' in St. Dunstans in the East parish, Tower Ward, which said prior etc. made a lease of their term to the said John Bamme under certain specified conditions: and also where John and his feoffees of Grenche's manor co. Kent and other tenements in that county, have let the same to Ralph Astry for a term of twenty years, which Ralph granted again to John for a yearly payment of 15l.: it is agreed between the parties for certain sums paid by Ralph to John, that if dame Alice Hampton, cousin and heir of Sir William Hampton, die before the end of twenty years from the last day of July last past, that then if Ralph and his executors be not paid the 15l. yearly from the death of Alice to the end of the term, by reason of the lease made to Ralph of the manor of Grenche, nor enjoy the said manor according to the lease to him made, then he shall receive 15l. yearly instead of the issues, profits and revenues of the foresaid lands in London. In witness whereof the two parties have set their seals to these indentures the year and day aforesaid.

Memorandum, that on Friday, 27 June, 1 Richard III, at 3 p.m. in a room within the chapel in the hospice of Cicely duchess of York, called Baynardescastell in Temystrete, London, the king in presence of R. bishop of Bath and Wells, J. bishop of Norwich, P. bishop of Exeter, Henry duke of Buckingham, Thomas Stanley knight and John Gunthorpe, keeper of the privy seal, delivered the Great Seal inclosed in a bag of white leather to J. bishop of Lincoln whom he appointed chancellor, and gave him the custody of the seal: and the said bishop received the same and carried it to the hospice in the parish of St. Andrew's Holborn, called the Old Temple, and on the 28 June following about 2 p.m. he opened the same in presence of Robert Morton, keeper of the chancery rolls, William Morland, William Bolton and Richard Skypton clerk, and sealed divers writs: and the seal remained in his custody. Memorandum, that on 12 October this year, the king sent his letters sealed with the privy seal to John bishop of Lincoln, the chancellor, ordering him on receipt thereof to send the great seal then in his safe custody to the king as speedily as possible. Wherefore the chancellor on Thursday, 16 October, at 11 a.m., in presence of William Kelet a clerk of the chancery, Geoffrey Simeon clerk, Richard Ive, clerk of the crown, and William Nanson, at the Old Temple in the Great Hall there, delivered the great seal enclosed in a white bag and sealed with his signet in the figure of an eagle, to Robert Blakwall, clerk of the chancery, to bear to the king. And he received the same and carried it in a bag to Grantham, where on 19 October at noon in the 'king's chamber' in the hospice of the Angel, in presence of the bishops of Worcester, Durham, Menevia and St. Asaph, of the earls of Northumberland and Huntingdon, Thomas Stanley knight and Thomas Barowe, keeper of the chancery rolls, he delivered the seal to the king. And his highness received the same and caused the bag to be opened, and the seal replaced therein. And he retained the seal in his custody from 19 October to 26 November, and caused writs, commissions and other things due to be sealed therewith. Jan. 12. Indenture between William Catesby, esquire of the king's body, and William Tyndale esquire, witnesseth that where there was variance between the parties for the manor of Redenhale co. Norfolk, they by mediation of their friends have agreed that for the sum of 400 marks paid, William Catesby shall possess and enjoy the said manor to him and his heirs for ever; and William Tyndale shall by feoffment, fine, recovery or otherwise ensure the same to William Catesby and deliver to him all charters, evidences and muniments concerning the premises, whereunto they have set their seals, year and day aforesaid.
