Westminster.
Thomas Charleton knight of Middlesex, to Thomas Billyng serjeant at law, Richard Heton, Henry prior of Fynneshede and Simon Burton. Recognisance for 100l., to be levied etc. in the said county.
Condition, that at his own cost he shall find a chaplain in the university of Oxford or Cambridge yearly and daily to celebrate and pray especially for the souls of Agnes late wife of William Porter knight and Benedicta late his own wife and of the faithful departed for a term of ten years from Whitsuntide next, and if he die within that term, his heirs, executors or assigns shall so do, and before he shall so celebrate, the said Thomas or his heirs etc. shall present him to the said prior and Simon, executors of the said Agnes, to take of them or one of them oath and charge to celebrate as aforesaid, and not to absent himself from the university three months in any year without the said executors' licence; that during the said term the said Thomas, his heirs, executors or assigns, shall pay to the said Henry and Simon or their executors 4 marks a year in the church of St. Paul London in the 'rode loft' called the 'rode of the northe dore,' in part maintenance of another chaplain to celebrate for the souls above mentioned; and that Elizabeth daughter of the said Thomas, when she shall come to the age of one and twenty years, or within one year after, shall give the said Henry and Simon a discharge for a book called a 'Primer' and for 20l. by tale to her bequeathed by will of the said Agnes, delivering the same in the 'rode loft' aforesaid.

Robert Brendewode gentleman upon the one part and William Halghton gentleman upon the other. Indenture of agreement, that the said William shall retain all the deeds, charters, evidences and other goods and chattels which he hath by deliverance of the said Robert and nought be charged thereof nor sued by the said Robert, his heirs or assigns, unto the time the aforesaid Robert have paid to him 41l. 6s. 8d. and got a discharge of 30l. in the which the parties and Simon Spert are bound to Richard Benyngton, of 10l. in the which they are bound to William Upton, and of 4l. the which William Halghton beheft to pay to the lord Stanley that late died; and William Halghton grants to deliver again unto the said Robert all the said deeds etc. after he hath performed the premises, provided that if the same or any parcel thereof be taken out of his possession against his will, he shall be white and discharged of all things anendys the said Robert, his heirs and executors.
