Edmund Hungerford of Douneamney co. Gloucester and William Stafford of Frome co. Worcester esquires, to John Dunne esquire. Recognisance for 500l., to be levied etc. in the said counties.
Condition, that the said John Don (sic) shall abide and obey the award of George archbishop of York, the arbitrator indifferently chosen on his part and the part of Edmund Hungerford, touching all actions, trespasses, debates and demands pending between those parties, so that the same be rendered before the quinzaine of St. Hilary next.

Memorandum, that upon informations unto him made that Richard Redysdale sued an appeal of the death of Robert Redysdale his ancestor against John Paston knight and many others, which said Robert was but withdrawn aside, for he was never seen dead nor never could be proved dead, and though oftentimes in feigned appeals defendants by judgement have been put to death for default of examination, where afterwards it hath been seen that those persons for death of whom appeals have been taken were alive, George archbishop of York the chancellor, in eschewing of such mischiefs and to be asserted more certainly of the truth, sent for the said Richard and examined him upon a book the 19 May last whether Robert were dead or not, unto the which he answered by his oath he wist not; where upon the chancellor, seeing that the conscience and demenyng of him and his councellors was large and perilously disposed to serve the death of any of the kings subjettes upon such uncertainty, commanded that the examination should be inrolled, and the tenor therof sent to the judges of the Kings Bench, that by their wisdoms the matter might be directed and reformed.
