This indenture between Richard Scrope esquire on the one part, and Harry Heydon on the other, witnesseth that the said Richard hath bargained and sold to the said Harry all his right, interest and title in the manors of Westwykham, Bastan or Kestan and Southcourt in the county of Kent: and he charges all his feoffees of the foresaid manors enfeoffed to his use that they make such estate and be demesned in this behalf as feoffees of the said Harry, and as he shall advise and require them so to do. Memorandum of the delivery on 13 November for execution of a writ directed to the sheriff of Middlesex (text follows) tested at Westminster, 10 October, 9 Edward IV, directing the said sheriff to attach the body of Gilbert Debenham knight, who on the 10 November last, before Ralph Verney, then mayor of the staple of Westminster for the admission of debtors, acknowledged that he owed 100l. sterling to Robert Duplache, tailor of London, which he should have paid at Christmas last, but has not yet done so: and to hold the said Gilbert, if he be layman, in prison, until he should have satisfied the said Robert fully, and by the testimony of lawful men in his jurisdiction, cause a valuation to be made of the lands, goods and chattels of the said Robert, out of which the said debt may be discharged: informing the king in chancery on the octave of St. Hilary next of the manner in which his commands have been obeyed.

Order at the next court to cause proclamation to be made of the day and place of the next parliament, and two knights girt with the sword, two citizens of every city and two burgesses of every borough therein resident, freely and indifferently chosen by those who were present at the proclamation according to the form of the statutes, inserting their names whether present or absent in indentures made between the sheriff and those present, and cause them to come at the said day and place that the same knights may have full and sufficient power to represent the community of their county, as the citizens and burgesses for the cities and boroughs in the business aforesaid, provided that no sheriff shall be elected, certifying the elections under the seal of the sheriff or of those present, and sending one part of the said indentures and this writ.

Memorandum of the delivery for execution of a writ directed to the sheriff of Middlesex tested at Westminster 12 October, 9 Edward IV, directing the sheriff to attach John le Straunge lord of Knokyn and Mohun, who on 19 December 7 Edward IV before Ralph Verney then mayor of the staple of Westminster for the admission of debtors, acknowledged that he owed William Lok and John Alburgh, mercers of London, 50l., due to be paid at the Annunciation of the B.V.M. last past but not yet discharged: and to hold the said John in prison until he satisfy the said William and John Alburgh and to have his lands valued by an inquisition of legal men whereby the said debt may be discharged, informing the king of the manner this writ has been executed.
