Oct. 31.
Westminster.
To the sheriffs of London for the time being. Order to pay to John Torel esquire 10l. a year; as the late king confirmed a grant made to the said John by King Edward III of 10l. a year at the exchequer for life or until that king should take other order for his estate, having retained the said John with him for life; and for his good service, and because he has given up those letters patent in chancery to be cancelled, the king has granted him for life 10l. a year of the issues of the city of London.
