To the escheator in Sussex. Order to give Robert son and heir of Richard de Ponynges knight seisin of a messuage, 24 acres of land, 5 acres of meadow and 26 acres of pasture in Twynem; as it is found by inquisition, taken before Richard atte Sonde late escheator, that Sara who was wife of Simon Smethe at her death held the premises for her life of the heritage of the said Robert, lately within age and in ward of the king, by demise of Thomas de Ponynges father of the said Richard, that the same ought to pertain to the said Robert as son of Richard father (sic) of the said Thomas and cousin and heir of the said Thomas, and that they are held of others than the king; and he proved his age before John Savage late escheator in Dorset.
