Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against Philip Holgot, appointed with others to make inquisition by whom and when the timber, iron, lead and other property of the king which remained in Hereforde castle after the building thereof and of the castle bridge were carried away and eloigned, and are yet withheld, and by other letters patent to make inquisition concerning the names of them that after the proclamation carried any grain, victuals or armour to Wales, or caused any to be carried thither, for relief of the rebels, but order to proceed against others who did meddle therein; as William Harpere executor of the said Philip has made oath in chancery that he never meddled in aught in those commissions contained.

Order for particular causes to cause proclamation to be made, that all knights, esquires, yeomen and other fencible men who by gift or confirmation of the king have any fees, annuities, lands or other yearly profits for life shall under pain of forfeiting the same be intendant upon Thomas lord of Berkeley and his deputies, armed, furnished and arrayed as their estate requires, to sail on the king's service at sea as by the said admiral or his deputies directed, notwithstanding the king's late writ ordering proclamation to be made that all such knights etc. should hasten and in person draw to the city of London to the king's presence, and that those who for age or infirmity are unable to travail should send other fencible men of their estate, so that they should be there by 14 April next ready to march with him to resist the rebels and his enemies. Writ of supersedeas until the quinzaine of St. John Baptist next by advice and assent of the council, in respect of any process concerning 482l. 8s. 11d. current in demand against Hugh Luterell knight for arrears of 186l. 13s. 4d. a year of the farm of the manor and hundreds of Middelton and Merden co. Kent when he was farmer thereof, namely until Michaelmas 23 Richard II, also upon a recognisance of 2 December 22 Richard II in 382l. 15s. 1d. payable to the late king at the Purification then next, which the said Hugh being farmer of the said manor and hundreds made before the barons of the exchequer for arrears of his farm to Michaelmas that year, and upon a bond by him made to Queen Anne for payment of 100l. so often as he should make default in payment of his farm at any term, and to secure his keeping certain other covenants in indentures made between the queen and the said Hugh and others. Order to cause proclamation to be made of a pardon by the king made in this parliament, the tenor whereof the king is sending (French text follows), namely a pardon by assent of the lords spiritual and temporal and at the request of the commons to all his liege subjects of England, Wales and the marches of Scotland for all treasons, insurrections, rebellions, misprisions, felonies and trespasses to that date, except to such as are in prison or in ward for treason, and except murders and rapes, counterfeitors of the king's seal, coiners of false money and felons in prison or on mainprise or bail; also a pardon to all adherents of his enemies and all rebels who will within forty days return to their allegiance, upon condition that they of Wales shall render themselves to the king, the prince of Wales, the duke of York or to their lieutenants or deputies, and they of the marches of Scotland to the king or to John his son warden of the 'Estmarche,' the earl of Westmerlande warden of the 'Westmarche,' their lieutenants or deputies, and proviso that William Serle, Thomas Warde of Trympyngton who pretends to be King Richard, and Amy Donet shall be excepted, and take no benefit from this pardon.

Quitclaim with warranty of all lands, rents and services in 'West Thurrok' and Styfforde or elsewhere in Essex called Tendrynges, which Hugh Crane of Horndoun co. Essex had by feoffment of Robert fitz William, and gave by charter to William Pevere and Joan and to the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the said William son of Robert, his heirs and assigns. Order to give notice to Henry bishop of Norwich to be in chancery in the quinzaine of Michaelmas next in order to shew cause wherefore there ought not to be a stay pending the appeal of John Talman otherwise Talugman of Castelacre of his diocese, and writ of supersedeas by mainprise of John Drake of Norwich, William Champeneys, John Alderforde of Norwich and John Pykynge of Norffolk; as at the request of the bishop, signifying that by his authority as ordinary John Talman was excommunicated for contumacy, not willing to be justified by censure of the church, the king ordered the sheriff to justify him by his body until he should content holy church for his contempt and wrongdoing; but he has appealed to the papal see and for protection of the court of Canterbury, and is purposing to prosecute his appeal as he avers, and the king has given him the day aforesaid; and John Drake and the others have mainperned in chancery to have him there at the aforesaid day.

Richard Pavy esquire to John Abberbury esquire, his heirs and assigns. Charter indented, dated the eve of St. John ante Portam Latinam 5 Henry IV, of the whole manor of Walton by Kings Sutton co. Norhampton as fully as the grantor had it by feoffment of John de Lysle of Wodyton knight, rendering to the said Richard and Joan his wife during their lives 10 marks a year, the first term of payment being Michaelmas next, and covenant by the said John that if the rent be unpaid one month after any such term it shall be lawful for the said Richard and Joan to distrain, and to drive and hold the distress within and without that county until contented of such arrears, their damages and costs; if the said Joan shall overlive her husband and claim dower of the manor in any court of the king the said rent shall cease; and if the rent be unpaid for one month, and the said Richard shall come in person or send his servant to crave and levy it at Walton, he shall be there two days at the cost of the said John, his heirs and assigns, for himself and his horses at will, unless payment shall be sooner made; and warranty of the said manor by the grantor, and of the rent by the said John. William de Swanlande, son and heir of William de Swanlande lord of Herfelde, to Walter Gawtroun citizen and draper of London, Richard Baynarde, John Staunden and Walter Whelere, both of Woxbrigge, their heirs and assigns. Charter with warranty of the reversion of all the lands, meadows, pastures, ways, paths, hedges, ditches etc. in Herfelde sometime of John Elnot his father's neif, which by charter indented, dated Herfelde 10 May 38 Edward III his said father gave to Henry de Kyngeston and to the heirs of his body to hold of the grantor and his heirs by the service of one rose a year and by suit at his court according to the custom of the manor, and which ought to revert to William the son if the said Henry shall die without issue.
