To the sheriffs of London. Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of taking of John Chaumberleyn of Torkesey any security for keeping the peace at suit of William Nedeler, and order by mainprise of Philip Darcy of London, William Lodyngton of Lincolnshire, Robert Darcy of Northumberland and William Sybille of Lincolnshire to set the said John free, if taken.
Like writ to the sheriff of Middlesex.

To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against brother Henry Crowenale preceptor of Ecle, appointed with others to make inquisition in Lincolnshire and Notynghamshire concerning all goods and chattels therein of John Busshe knight deceased, who forfeited to the king, but order to proceed against others who did meddle therein; as that commission came not to the preceptor's hands, as he has made oath in chancery.

Norhampton to find security for keeping the peace toward William Burne or any of the people, and order to set him free, if taken.

To the sheriff of Norffolk. Order to give notice to Henry bishop of Norwich to be in chancery in the quinzaine of Michaelmas next in order to shew cause wherefore there ought not to be a stay pending the appeal of Nicholas Smyth of Heppeworth, and writ of supersedeas by mainprise of Edmund Rungeton, John Gerarde, Nicholas Charewode and Thomas Cooke of Suffolk; as at the request of the bishop, signifying that by his authority as ordinary the said Nicholas was excommunicated for contumacy, not willing to be justified by censure of the church, the king ordered the sheriff to justify him by his body until he should content holy church for his contempt and wrongdoing; but he has appealed to the court of Canterbury, and is purposing to prosecute his appeal, and the king has given him the day aforesaid; and Edmund Rungeton and the others have mainperned in chancery to have him there at that day.

Like order, mutatis mutandis, by mainprise of Henry Assheburne of Derbyshire, Henry de Aldestre of Warwickshire, Nicholas Hemmyngforde of Huntingdonshire and John Costantyn of Middlesex, upon an appeal of Thomas Stokkes of Chesterton to the papal see and for protection of the court of Canterbury against a sentence of Henry late bishop of Lincoln.
