Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against Ralph de Nevylle knight, appointed with John Ingelby and others by letters patent of 12 February 20 Richard II a justice to survey and amend weirs, mills, stanks, piles, stakes and kiddles set and levied in the river Ouse, and all other defects thereof, and to make inquisition in Yorkshire what were so set and levied in time of King Edward I and after, by whom, when and how, but order to proceed against others who did meddle therein; as that commission came never to the said Ralph's hands, as witness is borne in chancery.

Condition that, whereas in the husting of the city of London before the mayor and aldermen William Harwedoun and Margery his wife brought a writ of right against John Barbour citizen and mercer of London and Agnes his wife concerning a messuage and three shops in London, and whereas John Barbour made default, and his wife was admitted to defend her right, and whereas she vouched to warranty Thomas Sherfelde and Agnes his wife daughter and heir of Agnes who was wife of Richard de Preston, if hereafter it shall be determined in the king's court before the mayor and aldermen that the plaintiffs recover the premises or parcel thereof against the said John and Agnes, and that she recover the value against the said vouchees, and if the said John and Agnes or one of them, or if their heirs shall thereafter sue execution of such judgment against the said Thomas and Agnes or one of them, or against their heirs, this bond shall remain in force, otherwise it shall be null and void.

To the mayor and bailiffs of Lincoln. Order to the mayor to send the record and process, which are in the bailiffs' keeping it is said, of the cause hereinafter mentioned, and all things that concern the same, so that the king shall have them in the octaves of St. Hilary, and that he may view them, and deal further according to law and the custom of the realm, and to the bailiffs to stay execution of judgment against John Hoghton the elder citizen of Lincoln while the writ of error is pending without debate, if he shall find security to prosecute the same, and shall deposit in court the sum adjudged for damages, to be delivered to the plaintiff in case the judgment shall be affirmed; as John Hoghton's complaint shews that error has crept into the record and process and the rendering of judgment in a cause in the city court before Thomas Forster late mayor and William Kyrkeby, John Ryle, John Raysyn and John Tonarde then bailiffs between Robert Kele of Lincoln and the complainant for fraud, and the king's will is that such error be corrected.

Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against Roger Willeley, Richard Harecourte, the heirs of William Shareshulle knight late sheriff of Stafford, and the tenants of his lands or other his executors, but order to proceed against them that did meddle therein; as he was appointed with others to make inquisition concerning the names of all merchants and others in Staffordshire and Salop who in buying and weighing of wool have constantly used weights too light and too heavy contrary to the statutes and ordinances, but that commission came not to the hands of the said Roger and Richard, neither had they knowledge of it, as they have made oath in chancery.

Writ of supersedeas in respect of their demand upon the abbot of Stratforde, the late escheators and the now escheator in Essex or others whatsoever to answer or account for the issues of 60 acres of land in Upmynstre called 'Brokelonde' taken into the king's hand by Helming Leget late escheator, until debate shall be had whether that land ought to pertain to the king or the abbot; as a plea between them concerning the same is pending in chancery.

Writ of supersedeas in respect of a distress against Thomas Skelton, appointed with others to make inquisition what lands, rents and services, parcel of the foundation of the hospital of Domus Dei Southampton, are therefrom withdrawn and withheld, by whom and how, for a certificate in the premises, and order to release any distress made; as the king has learned that they are distraining him to certify a second time, although he with other his fellows has made his certificate in chancery, as appears upon the chancery file among inquisitions of 7 Henry IV.

William Penyton vicar of Wobourne to Margaret who was wife of John Hochedes and Idonea Derneden her daughter, and to the heirs and assigns of the said Idonea. Charter of all the lands, meadows, woods, pastures, hedges, commons etc. in the parish of Wycombe which the vicar, with Nicholas atte Forde chaplain and Roger Ryps of Wycombe, had by feoffment of the said John, the said Nicholas and Roger having made a release thereof to the vicar.
