Katherine Gloucestre, daughter of John de Chilterne and late the wife of Philip Bluett, and Andrew Bures to Henry bishop of Winchester, Thomas bishop of Durham, Henry Merston clerk, William Babyngton, William de Flete, Alice his wife and John Deryng, their heirs and assigns. Demise indented with warranty of the manor of Brittewelle co. Hertford, and all other lands in the parishes of Watford and Caysho which were of John de Chilterne, reserving to the said Katherine for her life a yearly rent of 100s., and power to enter and hold the same until contented in case the rent shall be a year and two months in arrear and no sufficient distress may be thereupon found. Witnesses: Hugh Holes knight, Philip Terry vicar of Watford, Thomas Martyn vicar of Rikemersworth, William Hampton, William Wodewyke, John atte Welle, William Sherman. Dated Watford, 24 September 11 Henry IV.
