To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas until the octaves of the Purification next, unless the plea be sooner debated and determined, in respect of their demand upon Margaret Daubeney or the escheator in Somerset to answer or account for the issues or farm of a third part of the manors of 'Southpederton,' Baryngton, Stratton and Cheleton and the hundred of 'Southpederton' since they were taken into the king's hand; as by a mainprise the king committed to her the ward thereof, until debate should be had in his court whether the same ought to pertain to the king or to her, and the issues aforesaid, so that she should answer at the exchequer for those and for all other the issues thereof arising if they should be adjudged to the king.

Order to give notice to Richard bishop of London to be in chancery in the octaves of St. Hilary next in order to shew cause wherefore there ought not to be a stay pending the appeal of John Boude of Colcestre of his diocese, writ of supersedeas, and order by mainprise of John Perte 'wolman,' John Wellynge 'tapycer,' John Shorham 'wolman' and William Gerveys 'wever,' all of London, to set the appellant free, if taken; as at the request of the bishop, signifying that by his authority as ordinary John Boude was excommunicated for contumacy, neither would he be justified by censure of the church, the king ordered the sheriff to justify him by his body until he should content holy church for his contempt and wrongdoing; but he has appealed to the court of Canterbury, and the king has given him the day aforesaid; and John Perte and the others have mainperned in chancery to have him there at that day, and that he shall prosecute his appeal.

Memorandum of an order made (among other things) by Master John Kyngton, commissary of the king for visitation of his free chapel of Hastynges in the head and the members, that the prebendary of Pesemershe during his absence should pay a yearly pension of 53s. 4d. for the time he should not be in residence in the chapel towards the maintenance of the vicars, chaplains, clerks and ministers there ministering; that at suit in chancery of the dean and chapter thereof, submitting that the prebendary took no heed to pay that pension, the king commanded Master Henry Davy clerk, the said prebendary, to be in chancery in person on Friday after St. Andrew last in order to answer etc., that at that day he did so appear in chancery at Westminster, as did the dean and chapter by John Wandestre canon of the said chapel their proctor, as by a notarial instrument produced did appear, craving and obtaining licence to agree, and that agreement was made between the parties that 13s. 4d. should be deducted from the said pension, the prebendary and his successors being thereof discharged, and being bound to pay as aforesaid the 40s. remaining for the time when they should not be in residence, until some church in their patronage, or some other church at their instance or by their aid should at the cost of the dean and chapter or of others be appropriated to the dean and chapter in aid of the maintenance of the said vicars etc., so that after such appropriation the said yearly rent or pension of 40s., and another of 13s. 4d. which before the making of the said order the prebendary used to pay and is bound to pay them, should wholly cease and be extinguished, and the prebendary and his successors should be thereof discharged, the said order and other the ordinances, statutes, constitutions, privileges etc. aforetime made notwithstanding, and that the parties should acknowledge this agreement in chancery, and cause the same to be enrolled upon the chancery rolls, there to remain of record for ever.
