Dec. 7.
Westminster.
To William de Legh knight and Agnes his wife. Order under a pain of 200l. to demise their possession of thirty messuages, 50 acres of land, 40 acres of meadow, 100 acres of pasture and 6 acres of wood in Bothell, Blemrake, Torpennowe, Bowenes and Carleton, suffering Roger Whelpedale clerk, Robert Whitehevede, John Burgoigne and John Landwade peaceably to continue possession thereof; as in a cause in chancery between the said parties, for that the said William and Agnes did with the strong hand enter the premises, which were of Thomas de Skelton knight, and whereof he, by fine levied in the king's court, made a quitclaim to the said Roger and the others, unlawfully thrusting out the said Roger etc., having viewed the said fine, after hearing allegations, arguments and answers on either side, and after deliberation with the justices, serjeants at law and others of the council learned in the law, it was by their advice determined that the said William and Agnes should under the pain aforesaid demise their possession, making no second entry or disturbance, and suing the other parties at the common law if they should think fit, and that the said Roger etc. be put again in possession.

To Henry Kays the king's clerk, keeper of the hanaper of chancery. Order without taking the great or the petty fee to deliver to Thomas Beaufort now duke of Exeter letters patent in his keeping, whereby the king has granted to the duke and to the heirs male of his body 20l. a year of the issues and profits of Dorset and Somerset.
