To John Holyme and Thomas Lane collectors of the subsidy
upon wool in the port of Sandewich. Order to take of John
Fermyn keeper of the king's ferry (ferie et batelle) in the port of
Calais a tally for 21l. 16s. 5d. levied 5 July last at the receipt of
the exchequer, and to pay that sum to him for wages due in time
of Richard Merlowe and Robert Thorley late treasurers of Calais,
and to him assigned of the said subsidy arising after Midsummer
last. By bill of the treasurer. |

To Richard Buklande and John Norton collectors in the port
of London of the subsidy of 3s. upon every tun of wine and 12d.
in the pound. Order to receive a tally from one who shall
deliver it on behalf of the abbot of Waltham, and to pay the
abbot or his attorney 100 marks; as by a tally levied at the
receipt of the exchequer and to the collectors addressed that sum
is due to him for money lent and delivered to Thomas earl of
Arundell the treasurer to the king's use, and ought to be paid of
the said subsidy arising in the port of London after Midsummer

To Roger Flore escheator in Roteland. Order to remove the
king's hand and meddle no further with a messuage and 9 acres
of land in Berghdoun, which came to the hands of King Richard
II by reason of the idiocy of John Berghdoun son and heir of
John Berghdoun, delivering up any issues thereof taken since
his death; as the king has learned by inquisition, taken by the
escheator, that John the son was thereof seised, that they are
held of the earl of Warrewyk, and that Anne wife of James
Palmer of 'Northluffenham' and Agnes late the wife of Henry
Webstere are his cousins and heirs, namely the said Joan (sic)
daughter of Alice daughter of Anne sister of Alice his mother,
and the said Agnes daughter of Alice daughter of Anne sister of
Alice his mother. |
