Westminster.
To the collectors, farmers, receivers or occupiers for the time being of the alnage and subsidy upon cloth for sale within the city, suburbs and soke of Winchester and elsewhere in the county of Suthampton. Order, notwithstanding the preference of 10,000l. given to the king in the parliament holden at Westminster in 1 Henry V, to pay to brother John Tylle of the order of friars preachers 40 marks a year for life and the arrears for Michaelmas term last; as for good and willing service the late king by letters patent, confirmed by the king 6 June 1 Henry V, granted to the said friar his confessor for life 40 marks a year of the issues and profits of the alnage and subsidy aforesaid. To the escheator in Cambridgeshire. Order to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with twelve messuages in Hogyngton, and 10 marks a year of the issues of that county, delivering to Joan who was wife of Edmund duke of York any issues thereof taken; as the king has learned by inquisition, taken by the escheator, that she is tenant for life of those messuages as parcel of the manor of Lilleforde co. Norhampton, by gift of John de Copuldyke knight, William Michell of Friskeney, Thomas de Enderby and others, and that she holds the said yearly sum in dower by endowment of the duke; and by forfeiture of Henry Lescrope knight her husband deceased the same are taken into the king's hand.
To the escheator in Norhamptonshire. Like order, mutatis mutandis, concerning the manor of Lilleforde.
To the escheator in the county of Suthampton. Like order, mutatis mutandis, concerning the manor of Aulton with the hundred of Aulton, the manor and advowson of Bedhampton, and 46l. 15s. 11d. of the fee farm of Andevere, all of her own heritage as one of the sisters and heirs of Edmund earl of Kent.
To the escheator in Lincolnshire. Like order, mutatis mutandis, concerning the manor of Castre with the soke and appurtenances, except the towns of 'Northkelsey,' Howeton and Fulnetby whereof Joan who was wife of Thomas earl of Kent brother of Edmund earl of Kent is tenant for life in dower by endowment of her husband, which manor Joan who was wife of the said duke holds of her own heritage as one of the sisters and heirs of the said earl Edmund, concerning a yearly rent of 71l. issuing from the manor of Grantham which she holds in dower by endowment of the duke her husband, the manors of Orreby, Stepyng, Partenay, Belcheforde, Whythall and Langton which she holds for life by feoffment of John de Copuldyk knight, William Michell of Friskeney, Thomas de Enderby and others, and concerning a capital messuage in Cokeryngton, the manor of Ratheby, a yearly rent of 106s. 8d. issuing from the towns of 'Estkele' and Stikforde, the manors of Foletby, Spyllesby and Wyspyngton and a yearly rent of 10 marks issuing from ten messuages in Carleton by Louth, which she holds in dower by endowment of William de Wylughby knight her husband.
To the escheator in Norffolk and Suffolk. Like order, mutatis mutandis, concerning the manors of Chadgrave and Walcote called 'Sireswateresmanere' with 20 acres of land in Walcote, Casewyke, Baketon and Wytton late of Simon de Walcote parson of Walcote, whereof the said Joan is tenant for life by feoffment of John de Copuldyke knight, William Michell of Friskeney, Thomas de Enderby and others, the manors of Roughton co. Norffolk, Combes and Wykesufforth with 4l., 13s. 4d. of rent yearly to be taken of the township of Gippewich by the hands of the bailiffs thereof for the time being, the profits of two leets and two turns in the hundred of Saundforde, and the manor of Baudeshey whereof she is tenant in dower by endowment of William de Wylughby her husband, and the manor of Bredefeld co. Suffolk whereof she is tenant for life by feoffment of the said John, William, Thomas and others, as the king has learned by divers inquisitions.
To the escheator in Hertfordshire. Like order, mutatis mutandis, concerning the manor of Hychyn, whereof she is tenant in dower by endowment of the duke her husband.
To the escheator in Middlesex. Like order, mutatis mutandis, concerning 94l. 8s. 10½d. a year at the exchequer, which John Maysham the late king's escheator assigned to William de Willugh by knight her husband and to her in name of dower as the third part of 283l. 6s. 8d. which King Edward III granted (among other things) to the said duke and to the heirs male of his body.
To Nicholas Wotton mayor of the city of London and escheator therein. Like order, mutatis mutandis, concerning 96l. 8s. 10½d. whereof she is tenant for life in dower as the third part of 289l. 6s. 8d. granted by King Richard to the said duke and to the heirs male of his body, to be taken of the custom upon wool, hides and woolfells laded in the port of London, as the king has learned by inquisition taken by Thomas Fauconer late mayor and escheator.
To the escheator in Northumberland. Like order concerning a third part of the manors of Belestrie and Cryndoun within the liberty of Tyndale, a third part of a water mill and of 250 acres of land and 6 acres of meadow in Belyngham, a third part of tenements called Sekerwam containing about 60 acres of land and 5 acres of meadow, and Bernardestede containing 22 acres of land and 2 acres of meadow, a third part of two messuages in Trilwall containing 42 acres of land and 4 acres of meadow, of a messuage called 'Holdenerlande' containing 20 acres of land and 2 acres of meadow, of a shealing of land called 'Someryerde' containing 100 acres of land and pasture, and of a moiety of a 'hopp' called Chyrden containing, 3,000 acres of pasture within the said liberty, and a third part of the manor of la Leye with a third part of the knights' fees and advowsons, and of the parks, chaces, woods, warrens, fisheries, escheats, forfeitures, fairs, markets, royalties etc. to the manors of Belestrie and Crendoun, and to the said mill, lands, shealing etc. and manor of la Leye pertaining, which the said Joan holds in dower by endowment of the duke her husband.
To the escheator in Yorkshire. Like order, mutatis mutandis, concerning 200 marks a year of the ancient custom upon wool, hides and woolfells in the port of Kyngeston upon Hull and of the subsidy thereupon granted so long as the same shall there be granted, any ordinances, grants or assignments thereupon notwithstanding, as the third part of 400l. granted by King Edward III to the said duke and to the heirs male of his body, 50 marks a year of the issues of that county as a third part of 100l. a year likewise granted (among other things) to the duke and his heirs aforesaid, the manor of Wakefelde with the members etc., the castle and town of Sandhale, and concerning 176 acres of meadow called 'Iglemere' and 'Salthenges' with the agistment thereupon, divers pastures, namely 'Stanhousgange, Stanhousgarth,' the 'Thorndyke,' the 'Wythyes,' 'Crokidcotgarth, Estchaunturlande, Estharpyn, Wylowcotgarth, Twelvehendys, Esthelle,' the 'Havendyke, Westharpyn, Southchaunturlande' on the west side, 'Southchaunturlande on the east side, a pasture at the east end of Derynghamwyke, two woods called 'Suthwode' and 'Eppilwithwode' as parcel of the manor of Cotyngham and the advowson of Midelton church in Pykerynglyth, which she holds in fee of her own heritage as one of the sisters and heirs of Edmund earl of Kent.

To Henry Kays the king's clerk, keeper of the hanaper of chancery. Order without payment of a fee for the seal to deliver to the prior of the house of Jesus of Bedleem Shene letters patent whereby the king has granted to him and his successors that by themselves and their attorneys they may at their pleasure sue in the exchequer in time to come for all rents, services, farms, portions, pensions and other profits etc. in arrear of the lands and possessions to them given by the king, as the king should do were the same in his hands.

To John atte Chambre. Order under a pain of 40l. to collect the king's money, and to exercise the office of 'borsaldre' otherwise called 'decener,' or else to be in chancery on the morrow of St. Martin next in order to shew cause wherefore he ought not so to do, and answer touching the premises; as in contempt of the king, delaying the collection of the king's money, the said John has refused to exercise that office although he was thereto chosen by the jurors of an inquisition taken at the leet holden at Brenchesle co. Kent on Monday after Michaelmas last.
