To the escheator in Norffolk and Suffolk. Order to give
Katherine who was wife of Michael de la Pole earl of Suffolk, of
whom the king has taken an oath etc., livery of the manor of
Causton, a yearly rent of 20l. as parcel or member of the castle,
manor, town and honour of Eye issuing from the manor of
Baketon, a yearly rent of 10l. sometime pertaining to the abbey
of Bon Repos issuing from the manor of Costesey, and another
yearly rent of 10l. issuing from that manor, all in Norffolk, the
manor of Lowystoft and hundred of Luddynglond, a yearly farm
of 23l. 16s. 8d. of the manor of Combes, 69 acres of land in Wyngefelde and a yearly rent of 4l. 11s. 11¼d. of the issues of the said
castle etc. with the members, hamlets and appurtenances in
Suffolk, which with assent of William Robroke attorney of
Elizabeth who was wife of Michael the earl's son and heir, who
died within age in ward of the king, of Thomas Smyth clerk
attorney of Thomas Erpyngham, William Phelipp knights, Robert
Bolton and Thomas Frampton clerks to whom the king committed
the ward of all castles, manors, lands etc. of the earl with the
knights' fees and advowsons, and of Richard Selby attorney of
the said Katherine, the king has assigned to her in dower of the
said castles, manors, lands etc., taken into his hand by the earl's
death and by reason of the nonage of Michael the son, assigning
also ten bovates of land in Myton co. York, the manor of
Gestnyngthorp co. Essex, and 12s. of rent service issuing from
certain lands in Welburne, Yngoldesby, Ankastre and Merston co.
Lincoln severally held by John Willesforde, the heir of the lord
Beaumonde, John Thomson, Richard Braceby and others, and
the profits of a court holden every three weeks, and of a great
court holden once a year in that county. |

To the escheator in Yorkshire. Like order, mutatis mutandis,
concerning ten bovates of land in Myton which, among other
castles, manors, lands etc. of the said earl, the king has assigned
to the said Katherine. |

To the escheator in Essex. Like order, mutatis mutandis,
concerning the manor of Gestnyngthorp. |

To the escheator in Lincolnshire. Like order concerning 12s.
of rent service and the profits of courts (above mentioned). |

To the escheator in Suffolk. Like order, mutatis mutandis,
concerning twelve knights' fees in Edwardeston; Wyverston,
Rykynhale, Fresyngefelde, Pesenhale, Staberton, Walton,
Waltham, Brantham, Little Belstede, Great Bolmere, Little
Bolmere, Standestrede, Westhorpe, Leyston, Theberton, Knatushalle and elsewhere held by Richard Waldegrave knight, ten
knights' fees in Waybrede, Wyderesdale, Playforde, Fresyngfelde,
Kesgrave, Boyton, Istede, Westirfelde, Capel, Russhmere,
Todenham, Waldyngfelde, Moneweden, Ketilbergh, Shotford
and elsewhere held by Miles de Stapilton knight, seven knights'
fees in Huntyngfelde, Great Lyndestede, Little Lyndestede,
Petristre, Chilton by Sudbery, Sutton, Tangham, Westleton,
Baketon and elsewhere held by Isabel countess of Suffolk, one
knight's fee in Stratton, Yakesle, Cranele and elsewhere held by
William Loueney [and] Robert del Spitelle, and the moiety of one
knight's fee in Yakesle and Benyngham held by the heir of
Robert Hempnale knight which the king has assigned to the said
Katherine, assigning also one knight's fee in Akastre Malbysshe
by York and Acom in Clevelande co. York formerly held one
moiety by the heir of Richard Malbusshe, the other by the heir of
Richard Bekwyth. |

concerning the knight's fee (above mentioned), which the king has
assigned to the said Katherine among other fees and parts of
fees of the earl. |

mutandis, concerning the advowsons of Causton church, Burgh
church and Bromeholme priory co. Norffolk, and of Alderton
church co. Suffolk which the king has assigned to the said
Katherine, assigning also the advowson of the hospital called
'Meisendieux,' ('Meisendiex') in Myton by Kyngeston upon
Hull co. York. |
