Jan. 23.
Westminster.
To the sheriff of Warrewyk and Leycester. Order to cause proclamation to be made, that whosoever shall take John Oldecastelle knight, styled lord Cobham, keep him in custody, and bring him before the king shall have 1,000 marks in money by tale and 20l. a year for life, and that the citizens and burgesses and the commonalty of cities, boroughs and other towns who shall take him, keep him in custody or bring him before the king shall be quit of all tenths and fifteenths and other taxes hereafter granted to the king and his heirs, and further that the king shall cause letters patent under the great seal to be made them thereupon, and they shall find him henceforward very generous in their affairs, and in every lawful and honest suit of theirs, also that all officers of lords whatsoever and all the king's liege subjects shall be aiding the captors or captor herein whensoever they shall have warning; as the said John refuses to sue for or receive the grace heretofore granted by the king to his offending lieges, persevering in his nefarious intent to destroy the church of England, the king and his true lieges. Gift with warranty of all his goods and chattels moveable and immovable, quick and dead, and all debts to him due in the borough of Suthwerke and elsewhere within the realm. John Ralegh of Wardyngton esquire to John Dauvers of Cothrop, his heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of the messuage, eight virgates of land and ten virgates of meadow in Wardyngton called Sheldones in the tenure of Hugh Colworth and Thomas Mildrop, a messuage, one virgate of land and one of meadow in Great Bourton and Little Bourton in the tenure of William Symmes, a corner tenement and three cottages in Baunebury in the tenure of Thomas Cambrigge and Ralph Barbour, and all other lands, rents, services, reversions etc. in those towns which Robert Betrych chaplain and John Dauvers had by feoffment of John Ralegh.
