Master Richard Ogan otherwise Wogan, parson of Nerberde in Wales in the diocese of St. Davids, to the king. Recognisance for 500l., to be levied etc. of his lands and chattels and church goods in Wales. (fn. 2)
Condition, that he shall appear in person before the council from day to day, to answer the king and John Franke clerk, one of the clerks of chancery, touching what shall be laid against him on their behalf, and shall not withdraw without special licence, or until lawfully dismissed.
Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 40l., made in chancery 17 May this year by Robert Cavelle of Treavereke, Richard Tredyny of Tredyny and John Golepyn of Trewyget, each of Cornwall 'gentilman,' and Thomas Nansegles of Holborn co. Middlesex 'gentilman' for Thomas Werynge 'baylyfe,' and of an undertaking by him under the same pain, that he shall do or procure no hurt or harm to Joan who was wife of John Countevyle or any of the people.

Condition, that he shall save the said John and his executors harmless toward Maud mother of the said Tristram and her executors in respect of the delivery of letters patent under the seal of the duchy of Lancastre concerning an annuity of 20l. payable of the manor of Passenham co. Norhampton to the said Maud and Thomas Curteys her husband deceased for their lives and the life of the longest liver, and by the said John delivered in chancery to the said Tristram.

'To the duc of Gloucestre wardein in oure rewme of Englande and to all the remanent of oure conseil there.' Letter (English) of the king, with 'joyfull tydinges of oure goode spede touchinge ye conclusioun of pees,' announcing that 'upon Moneday the xx day of this present moneth of May' the king 'arrived in this towne of Troyes, and on the morowe hadden a convencioun betwix oure moder the quene of France and oure brother the duc of Burgne as commissairs of the kinge of France' and the king in person, and 'thaccorde of the said pees perpetuelle was there sworne,' and 'the lettres therupon forwith enseled,' a copy of which is enclosed, to the 'ende that ye doo the saide accorde to be proclamed yn oure citee of London and thorowe al oure rewme'; also that 'at the saide convencioun was mariage betrowthed betwix us and oure wyfe doghter of oure forsaid fader the Kynge of France'; and sending in a 'cedule' a 'newe stile' which the king is to use during the life of his said father, 'in Latine, in Englysshe and in Frensshe,' and charging them that this be used, and 'that the scripture of all oure seeles be amended therafter yn al haste . . . aswel yn Englande as yn Irlande and yn Guyeune.' Dated Troyes, 22 May.
The new style follows in three languages; 'heire and regent of the rewme of France' being substituted for king of France.
