Westminster.
To the escheator in Suffolk. Order to take the fealty of Richard Walgrave, Andrew Botiller knights, Robert de Teye, Richard Baynarde, Simon Prentys parson of Little Corneherth and Richard perpetual vicar of Assyngton, and to give them livery of the manor of Aketone called Rokewodes and Lyes, but to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with the manors of Baleysdene and Brockeley, delivering to the said Richard Waldegrave and the others any issues thereof taken; as it is found by inquisition, taken before Edmund Wynter the late king's escheator, that William Rokewode at his death held no lands in Suffolk in chief nor of any other in demesne nor in service, but was lately seised in fee of the manors of Aketone called Rokewodes, Lyes and Baleysdene in Aketone, and of the manor of Brockeley called Ingham, and gave the same, by name of all his lands, rents and services in Aketone, Melforde and Grotone, with all in Brokeley, Hertest, Whepstede and Lauselle to Thomas Swynborne, Edmund Thorp, Robert Corbet the younger knights, John Rokewode and Richard Wythermersshe, all now deceased, and to Richard Waldegrave and the others yet living, their heirs and assigns, that they were thereof seised, and the survivors at the time of that inquisition, that the manor called Rokewodes and Lyas was held of the late king by knight service as of the honour of Peverell, and the manors of Baylesdene and Brockeley of others than the king, and that by reason of that trespass the manor of Aketone called Rokewodes and Lyes was taken into the late king's hand; and for a fine paid in the hanaper the king has pardoned the trespasses therein committed, and for one mark there paid has respited the homages of Richard Waldegrave and the others until Whitsuntide next.
Nov. 10.
Westminster.
To John Walle mayor of the town of Newcastle upon Tyne and escheator therein. Order to give John Mitforde, son and heir of William Mitforde esquire, seisin of his father's lands; as he has proved his age before the said mayor, and the king has taken his fealty, and for 6s. 8d. paid in the hanaper has respited his homage until Easter day next.
To the escheator in Northumberland. Like order; as John Mitforde has proved his age before John Walle, and for a fine paid in the hanaper the king has respited his homage until a day yet to come.
Dec. 8.
Westminster.
To the escheator in Gloucestershire. Order to take the fealty of Richard Wyche, and to give him and John Lanoy livery of the manor of Temple Guytynge, and the issues thereof taken; as it is found by inquisition, taken before Nicholas Alderley late escheator, that Elizabeth who was wife of John de Clynton knight at her death held that manor in dower of the heritage of William de Clynton knight by endowment of her husband, that afterwards William de Clynton as cousin and heir of the said John, namely son of William his son, granted the reversion thereof by fine to Henry Nansmere now deceased, Richard Wyche and John Lanoy and to their heirs, and the said Elizabeth attorned tenant to them, that she died thereof so seised, and that the same is held in chief by knight service; and the king has taken the fealty of John Lanoy, and for 20s. paid in the hanaper has respited the homage of John Lanoy and the said Richard until Whitsuntide next.

To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Order not to trouble Thomas Ferrers esquire for his homage; as on 4 December 8 Henry V for a fine paid in the hanaper the late king respited to a day now past the homages of Thomas Ferrers who took to wife Elizabeth Freville one of the sisters and heirs of Baldwin Freville knight, son and heir of Baldwin Freville knight son and heir of Baldwin Freville knight husband of Joyce who was wife of Adam Peshale knight, and of Hugh Wylughby of Wollaton co. Notyngham esquire who took to wife Margaret another sister and heir, due by reason of issue between them and their wives begotten for their purparties of all lands held by the said Joyce in dower or otherwise for life of their wives' heritage and the heritage of Robert Aston, son and heir of Roger Aston knight and Joyce his wife the third sister and heir, who was within age and in ward of that king, commanding livery to be given them of the said purparties; and the king has taken the homage of Thomas Ferrers. To the escheator in Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire. Order in presence of the farmers of the lands of John Arundell of Arundell knight, or of their attorneys, to assign dower to Eleanor who was wife of the said John, and whom Richard Ponynges knight has now taken to wife, and the issues thereof taken since 2 March 9 Henry V; as on that date the late king ordered the then escheator in presence of the said farmers etc. to assign to the said Eleanor, of whom he commanded William Cheyne to take an oath etc., dower of the said John's lands, taken into that king's hands by his death and by reason of the nonage of John his son and heir, and the late king died before he executed that writ; and with advice and assent of the council for a fine paid in the hanaper the king granted to the said Eleanor power to marry whatsoever fit person she should please of his allegiance without impeachment of him or his heirs, or of their ministers whatsoever.
