Westminster.
To the escheator in Gloucestershire. Order to take the fealties of Richard Harewelle and William Harewelle, and to give the said Richard and Maud his wife and the said William and Margery his wife seisin of their respective purparties of the manor, lands, reversions etc. hereinafter mentioned; as upon the finding of an inquisition, taken before Robert Lysle the late king's escheator, that Margaret who was wife of John Dycleston at her death held by knight service of the heir of Thomas late lord le Despenser, a minor in ward of that king, the manor of Dycleston and all lands, rents, services and reversions of the said John in Aldryngton with the advowson of Aldryngton church, by gift of Robert Whytyngton and Thomas Thurkell late parson of Aldryngton to the said John and Margaret and to the heirs of her body by him, and that Thomas their son was her son and next heir, and of the age of nine years, and of another inquisition, taken before the said escheator, that the said manor, lands, advowson etc. came to the late king's hands by the death of the said Margaret and by reason of the nonage of the said Thomas, who died within age in ward of that king, and was yet in his hands, and that Elizabeth whom John Harewelle the younger took to wife, Maud and Margery daughters of John Dycleston and Margaret were sisters and next heirs of the said Thomas, and upon proof of the age of the said Elizabeth before John Greuell late escheator, the late king ordered the then escheator to take the fealty of John Harewell, in his presence and presence of the said Elizabeth and of the next friends of the said Maud and Margery, or of their attorneys, to make a partition of the premises into three equal parts, and to give John Harewelle and Elizabeth seisin of her purparty, keeping in the said king's hands until further order the purparties of the said Maud and Margery; and Richard Harewelle who has taken the said Maud to wife, and William Harewelle who has taken the said Margery have proved their ages before John Vaunpage escheator in Worcestershire.

Order to give Anne wife of Hugh Courtenay late earl of Devon livery of one acre of land in Exeter which is glebe of the church of Allhallows in Goldsmith street (aurifabria) of that town with the advowson of the church, two inns in the said town and 13s. 4d. of rent service there, taken into the late king's hand by the earl's death and by reason of the nonage of Thomas his son and heir, and the issues thereof taken, but to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with other the manors, messuages, lands, advowson and rents hereinafter mentioned, delivering to her any issues thereof taken; as it is found by inquisition, before the escheator taken by command of the late king, that Hugh Lutterell knight, John Lutterell of Carampton, John Fortescu esquires, Master Thomas Hendyman, John Wendover, Walter Robert clerks, Matthew Doune, Richard Donscombe, and John Walle clerks were seised of the manors of Cornwode, Norton, 'Northpole,' Fareway, Toutzseynston, Twykebeare and Holdham, the advowson of Fareway church to the manor pertaining, the premises in Exeter, 26s. 4d. of rent in Legh Durant, 12s. of rent in Loppethorne, three ferlings of land in Redeston, 4s. 8d. of rent in Hurneforde, 12s. of rent in Wodehay otherwise Wodecort, 4l. 13s. 4d. of rent in Wasshebourndurant payable by divers freeholders there, four messuages, a cottage, a water mill and two ferlings of land in Bayllysforde, 30s. 2d. of rent issuing from certain tenements there payable by divers freeholders, 6s. of rent issuing from a messuage, 16 acres of land and 2 acres of meadow in Burdysheale payable by divers freeholders, a messuage, 30 acres of land and 3 acres of meadow in Sandwylle, two messuages and 1½ ferling of land in Thorslegh Durant, 40s. of rent issuing from tenements in Yealborne payable by divers freeholders, a messuage, 3½ ferlings of land, 6 acres of meadow and 4 acres of wood in Knytheton, 2s. of rent issuing from divers tenements payable by divers freeholders there, 3½ ferlings of land and 2 acres of meadow in Maneton, one ferling of land and 2 acres of meadow in Forde by Alyngton, 20s. of rent issuing from divers tenements there payable by divers freeholders, two messuages and gardens in Kyngesbrigge, two messuages and gardens and one ferling of land in Dodebroke, 26s. 8d. of rent issuing from tenements in 'Cooldaysshe' payable by divers freeholders, 3s. 4d. of rent issuing from tenements in Kekehille payable by freeholders, a messuage and one ferling of land in Bury, 10s. of rent issuing from tenements there payable by freeholders, 22s. of rent issuing from divers tenants in Vyeliston payable by divers freeholders, 8s. 3d. of rent issuing from a messuage and one ferling of land in 'Estekkeworthy' held in fee by John Stapeldoun, 6s. of rent there issuing from a messuage and half a ferling of land held for life by John Wylle with reversion to them, their heirs and assigns, 6s. of rent issuing from a messuage and half a ferling of land in 'Westekkeworthy' held for life by John Stapeldoun with reversion as before, 12s. of rent issuing from a messuage and one ferling of land in Gallissore held in fee by John Gallissore, 13s. 4d. of rent issuing from lands in 'Sulkelonde' payable by divers freeholders, 19s. 8d. of rent issuing from tenements in Thornwyger payable by divers freeholders, 13s. of rent issuing from three messuages and two ferlings of land there held for life by John Horetoppe, William Doge and Joan Vyelle with reversion as before, a messuage and half a ferling of land in Middelton, 10s. of rent issuing from tenements there payable by divers freeholders, 13s. 4d. of rent issuing from two messuages and three ferlings of land there held for life by John Bale and William Webber with reversion as before, two messuages and 2½ ferlings of land in Churybeare, 39s. 6d. of rent issuing from tenements there payable by divers freeholders, 4l. of rent issuing from tenements in Cotteforde held for life by John Kyngman and Joan his wife with reversion as before, and a messuage, 3½ ferlings of land and 6 acres of meadow in Prestecote, and by name of their manors of Cornwode etc. (as above), the advowson of Fayreway church, a parcel of land in Exeter which is glebe of Allhallows aforesaid with the advowson of that church, all their messuages and lands in that city, namely 'Londesyn' and their inn in 'Lytelbrytayn,' the rents and services of John Stapeldoun, and all their messuages, lands, rents, reversions and services in Legh Durant, Loppethorne, Redeston, Hurneforde, Wodehay otherwise Wodecort, Wasshebourndurant, Bayllysforde, Burdesheale, Sandwylle, Thorslegh Durant, Yealborne, Knytheton, Maneton, Forde by Alyngton, Kyngesbrygge, Dodebroke, 'Cooldaysshe,' Kekehille, Bury, Vielyston, 'Estekkeworthy, Westekkeworthy,' Gaillissore, 'Sulkelonde,' Thornwyger, Cooldyscote, Bokelonde Chayllowe, Lokkyssore, Middelton, Churybeare, Cotteforde and Prestecote in the hundred of Tyverton, with all their messuages, lands, rents, reversions and services there, they made a demise and grant thereof to the said earl and Anne, by name of Hugh Courtenay son of Edward de Courtenay earl of Devon and Anne his wife, and to the heirs of their bodies, and that the said glebe, inns and rent in Exeter issuing from messuages there late in the tenure of John Stapeldoun [are held (fn. 1) ] of the king in free burgage as parcel of the town of Exeter, the tenements in 'Cooldaysshe,' Kekehylle and Bury and the rents in Vielyston, 'Estekkeworthy' and 'Westekkeworthy,' the tenements there and rents in Galyssore, 'Sulkelonde' and Thornwyger are held of the king as of the duchy of Lancastre, and the other manors, messuages, lands etc. of others than the king; and the king has taken the said Anne's fealty.

To the constable of the Tower of London or his lieutenant. Order to deliver John Braquemont knight, the king's prisoner in custody in the Tower, to John Robessart knight, who has undertaken in chancery under a pain of 1,000 marks to appear there in person in the quinzaine of St. Hilary next in order to find security, as the chancellor shall appoint, to answer for the said prisoner if any man will hereafter bring a cause against him.
