Dru Barantyn to Christopher Preston. Recognisance for 500l., to be levied etc. in Bedfordshire.
Condition, that he shall abide the award of John da le Bere (sic), Richard Drayton esquire and Robert Quynerton or two of them concerning all lands in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Bedfordshire sometime of John Drayton knight, and lands in Oxfordshire sometime of John Gybbes, all evidences etc. concerning the same, and all actions real and personal to this date, so that their award be made before Christmas next.

Condition, that he shall perform the award of John da le Bere (sic) and others (as above), arbitrators chosen with assent of the parties, concerning the title and possession of all lands, rents and services in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Bedfordshire late of John Drayton knight and John Gybbes or one of them, all actions, plaints and demands between them to this date, and all muniments charters and evidences which concern those lands etc. or any parcel thereof; and proviso that such award shall be made before Christmas next.

Memorandum of acknowledgment by the abbot and convent at Byland 4 October before James Strangeways, by virtue of a dedimus potestatem which is on the chancery file for this year, and by the said John in chancery at Westminster, 13 November.

John Clynton lord Clynton and Roger Fenys knight, to whom as cousins and heirs of Elizabeth late the wife of William Heroun knight, daughter and heir of William lord Say, descended by inheritance (among other manors, lands etc.) a parcel of land in Patrykesbourne co. Kent called 'Sayescourtesplace,' the advowsons of the priories of Combwelle co. Kent and Cokesforde co. Norffolk, and divers knights' fees in Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Norffolk, Suffolk, Bukinghamshire, Norhamptonshire, Hertfordshire and Essex. Writing indented, whereby John Clynton gives to Roger Fenys, his heirs and assigns, to his purparty a moiety of the said land next the south, the advowson of Combwelle priory, and all the said knights' fees in Kent and Surrey with the homages and services of all their tenants therein, and Roger Fenys gives to John Clynton, his heirs and assigns, to his purparty the other moiety next the west, the advowson of Cokesforde priory and all knights' fees in Sussex, Norffolk, Suffolk, Bukinghamshire, Norhamptonshire, Hertfordshire and Essex with the homages and services etc. Dated London, 15 November 11 Henry VI.

John lord Lescrope and John Darell (as above) to (the said) earl. Recognisance for 200 marks, to be levied etc. (as above).
Richard de Bello Campo earl of Warrewyk to John Vampage and Elizabeth his wife, and to the heirs of the body of John Vampage, with remainder to his right heirs. Gift and confirmation of the site of the manor of Wyke by Pershore co. Worcester, the free chapel within the same, and all demsne lands thereto belonging, with the advowson of the said chapel, and a parcel of meadow in Pydulle by Pershore as parcel of the said manor, of all whereof John Shippeston was late tenant for life, and all rights, profits etc. with reversion to the earl, and quitclaim thereof with warranty to John Vampage and Elizabeth and to the heirs and assigns of John Vampage; reciting a charter whereby the earl granted that reversion to John Verney clerk, Robert Andrewe and John Throkmarton esquires and to their heirs, and all other his lands, rents, reversions and services in Wyke, and John Shippeston attorned tenant to them, and reciting a charter whereby John Verney and the others, in consideration that they had the premises by the earl's gift to the use of John Vampage, his heirs and assigns, gave all the said lands, rents, reversions and services to the said John Vampage and Elizabeth, and to the heirs of the body of John Vampage, with remainder to the right heirs of John Vampage, and John Shippeston attorned tenant to them. Dated Pershore, 11 September 11 Henry VI.

Richard de Bello Campo earl of Warrewyk to John Vampage and Elizabeth his wife and to the heirs and assigns of John Vampage. Quitclaim with warranty of all the messuages, lands, rents, reversions and services in Wyke and Pydulle by Pershore lately held of the earl for life by John Shippeston now deceased, all those which John Verney clerk, Robert Andrewe and John Throkmarton esquire had there by gift of the earl to them and their heirs, and all other lands, profits etc. which the earl had in Wyke, [and whereof] John Vampage and Elizabeth are in peaceable possession to them and the heirs of the body of John Vampage, with remainder to his right heirs; and confirmation of their seisin therein. Dated 29 October 11 Henry VI.
Richard earl of Warrewyk to John Verney clerk, Robert Andrewe and John Throkmarton esquires, their heirs and assigns. Gift with warranty of the reversion after the death of John Shippeston of divers lands etc. in Wyke by Pershore and a parcel of meadow in Pedulle by Pershore, of all whereof he is tenant for life by demise of the earl, rendering 8 marks a year, with covenant that no officer or minister of the earl or of his heirs shall meddle therein; also of all other lands, rents, reversions and services of the earl in Wyke. Dated 6 April 8 Henry VI.

Thomas Strange knight to Thomas Chitwode knight, son of Amabel late his wife. Gift indented with warranty of a yearly rent of 20 marks, to be taken during the grantor's life in and of the manor of Warkeworth co. Norhampton, whereof he is tenant for life with reversion to Thomas Chitwode; and if there shall be rescue of distress or replevin, or if the rent shall be one quarter in arrear, it shall be lawful for him and his assigns to distrain for 40s. in name of a pain. Dated Warkeworth, 21 November 11 Henry VI.
