Like order, mutatis mutandis, in regard to Nicholas Bernarde in the forest of Wolmere and Alesholt, who is elected lieutenant of the forest, and is too much occupied in divers business concerning that office to have leisure for exercise of the office of verderer.

To the escheator in Staffordshire. Order to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with the manors, lands etc. hereinafter mentioned, delivering to Margaret late the wife of John Delves, Ralph Eggerton and William Lee any issues thereof taken; as the king has learned by inquisition, taken by the escheator, that John Delves at his death held, as jointly enfeoffed with them and with Edmund Basset now deceased, the manors of Apedale, Knotton and Hildurston, six messuages, a cottage and a toft in Audeley, three bovates of land in Dymmysdale, and the reversion of all messuages, lands etc. in Hildurston, Whitemore, Dymmysdale, Knotton, Bettyley, Audeley and Delves, the rents and services of freeholders, namely Thomas Brette for a tenement in Dymysdale by knight service and a rent of 2s. 8d. a year, and a messuage there by a rent of 13s. 4d. a year, William Dymmesdale for a messuage there by knight service and a rent of 2s. 4d. and a pair of gloves, and a messuage by a rent of 12d., Thomas Bromley for a messuage there by a rent of 4s., Juliana de Broke for a cottage there by a rent of 2s., John Hunt for a messuage in Honforde by a rent of ½d., Richard Lagowe for a messuage there by a rent of 12d., Nicholas Broun for a messuage there by a rent of 12d., Thomas Honforde for a messuage there by a rent of ½d., William Blakelowe for a messuage there by a rent of 6d., John Boughay for the manor of Whitmore in Whitmore by knight service and a rent of 23s. 6d. a year, Richard Wele for a messuage there by a rent of 2s., Alice Wychehulle for a parcel of land there by a rent of 2d., John Wode for a parcel of land there by a rent of 4d., Thomas Wewes for certain lands etc. there a rent of 6d., the heirs of John Gryffyn for the town of Little Clayton by knight service and a rent of 6d. a year, the prior of Trentham for divers lands etc. there by a rent of 2d. a year, all by gift of Thomas Hunt the elder of Newcastle under Lyne, by name of all his manors of Apedole, Knotton, Hildurston, Whytmore, Dymmysdale, Honforde, Little Clayton, Audeley and Delves and the reversions of all the messuages, lands etc. in Hildurston, Whitmore and Dymmysdale in the tenure of John Browe and Anne his wife for her life, in Knotton in the tenure of Roger Bavan, James Theknes and Roger Holwey for their lives, in Bettyley of John Dower for his life, in Audeley of John Breuner for his life, and in Delves of Richard Birkes for his life, all which that grantor had by gift of John Delves, to the said John, Margaret, Ralph, Edmund and William and the heirs of the said John's body, that all the tenants attorned tenants to them, and that all are held of others than the king.
To the same. Order to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with the manor of Crakemershe, delivering to John de Bulkeleye of Wore and William del Walle chaplain any issues thereof taken; as the king has learned etc. that John Delves gave the same to them, their heirs and assigns, by name of all his messuages, lands, rents, and services in Crakemershe by Uttokeshather and in the lordship thereof, and that the manor is held by knight service of the king as of his duchy of Lancastre as of the honour of Tuttebury.
