Westminster.
To the escheator in Somerset and Dorset. Order to take the fealty of John Chydyoke the son, and to give him livery of the manor of 'Estchelburgh,' and the issues thereof taken, but to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with the manor of Alwyneshey, the messuages, tofts, mills, curtilages etc. hereinafter mentioned, delivering to the said John any issues thereof taken; as it is found by divers inquisitions, taken before the escheator, that a fine levied at Westminster in the quinzaine of St. John Baptist 3 Henry VI between Henry Blakemore clerk, William Payne, John Neburgh, John Storke and John Cheverell plaintiffs and Ralph Busshe esquire, Eleanor his wife and John Chydyoke knight, then esquire, son of John Chydyoke knight, deforciants of the manors of Alwyneshey co. Somerset and 'Estchelburgh' co. Dorset among other things, whereby the deforciants acknowledged the right of the said Henry, and the plaintiffs granted the said manors to the said Ralph and Eleanor for her life with remainder to John Chydyoke the son and to his heirs, that another fine levied in the court of Brydeport according to the custom of that town on Monday the feast of St. George the same year before John Proute and William Hore bailiffs and Roger Broun, Simon atte Forde, William Marchall and John Sore burgesses between the parties aforesaid of twenty messuages, four tofts, two water mills and twenty curtilages in Brydeport, whereby the deforciants acknowledged the right of the said Henry, and the plaintiffs granted the same to the said Eleanor for life with remainder to John Chydyoke the son and his heirs, and that the manor of 'Estchelburgh' is held in chief by knight service, the manor of Alwyneshey and the said messuages etc. of others than the king; and for 1 mark paid in the hanaper the king has respited the homage of John Chydyoke the son until the feast of St. John Baptist next.
To the escheator in Gloucestershire. Like order to remove the king's hand from the manor of Frampton upon Severn; upon the finding of a like inquisition, mutatis mutandis, taken before the escheator, that the said manor is not held of the king.
