Richard Clerk citizen and grocer of London to William Babyngton chief baron of the exchequer, Thomas Chaucer, Thomas Bekyngham, Richard Baynarde esquires, Alexander Aune and William Halle, their heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of the messuage, 80 acres of land, 10 acres of meadow and 9d. of rent in Walcomstowe which were of Robert Chichele, William Chichele grocer and John Conyesburgh poulter citizens of London, and of 6 acres of meadow there sometime of Ellis Huchoun, all which William Babyngton and the others now have in peaceable possession, and had jointly with John Wyltsshire knight, Thomas Haxeye clerk and Sir Nicholas Wight clerk, all now deceased, by charter of feoffment of John Boteller citizen and draper of London and Roger Poughden, dated Walcomstowe 18 January 1 Henry VI. Quitclaim of the manors of Little Maldoun and Wodehalle, and of all other manors, lands, rents and services, all neifs and advowsons of churches and chapels to the said manors pertaining, which the said Thomas and Robert had jointly with Richard Clifforde late bishop of London, John de Boys, Robert de Teye, Robert late parson of Hengham Sibille, Richard Waltham, Thomas Berebowe and Adam Crisselowe all now deceased, and with William Baylle yet living by feoffment of Bartholomew de Bourghchier knight, with the exception of lands, rents and services called Hippeworthes, the advowsons of the churches of Grynstede, Lavare and Langforde, of Bileghe abbey and the hospital of St. Giles Maldoun; also quitclaim of the manors of Tolleshunte [and] Messynge, and all lands, rents and services in Rewenhalle and Witham co.
