Westminster.
Robert Rolleston, Nicholas Wymbyssh, John Stokes and John Brokholes clerks to John bishop of Bath and Wells the chancellor and William bishop of Lincoln. Recognisance for 40l., to be levied etc. in Yorkshire.
Condition, that the dean and chapter of the cathedral church of St. Peter York shall abide and perform the award of the said bishops, arbitrators chosen by themselves on the one part and the master and brethren of the hospital of St. Leonard York on the other part touching the title and possession of tithes of corn and hay arising from lands of the master and brethren at Heslyngton in the parish of St. Lawrence without the walls in the suburbs of York which are in their own hands, so that the same be made in writing indented under their seals before Midsummer day next, and shall make no attempt concerning the same in the mean time.

Thomas Ardrene esquire to Henry Percy earl of Northumberland, Robert Rolleston clerk keeper of the great wardrobe and provost of Beverley, John Constable, William Tyrwhit knights, John Ellerker and John Beseby, their heirs and assigns. Quitclaim of all the lands in Driffelde and Beverley which were of Lucy late the wife of Brian del See esquire, and after her death were allotted to the said William by a partition between him and John Tyrwhit; and warranty thereof against the abbot of Westminster and his successors, with proviso that this warranty shall bar the said Thomas and his heirs, but shall not extend to recovering the value of those lands. Condition, that if Roger de Strangways esquire, receiver of the said queen in Anglesey in Northwales, shall before 1 March be delivered out of the castle and prison of Baumarrez, he shall come in person to London on or before that date, and before the said executors or two of them, or before such auditors or others as they or two of them will appoint, and shall render account of all receipts for which he is accountable, there remaining at the end of his account, and not departing thence without their leave. Condition, that during the life of Thomas Chichele archdeacon of Canterbury Christopher Boynton or they shall pay the said William and Richard (sic) Reynhyll 4l. a year at London in the parish church of St. Andrew Holbourne on the feast of the Purification or within eight days after, or shall present or collate Richard Reynyll or other their nominee to a prebend of the value of 100s., not refusing to take such prebend to farm of the person so presented if required by William Garnet, Richard Reynhyll and the nominee, and to render to Richard Reynhill or the nominee 100s. a year in the said church on the feast aforesaid or within eight days following, finding security for payment thereof by recognisance in chancery of divers sufficient persons for 100l.

Order to take again their letters patent concerning a maintenance for life within that abbey which William Buttiller esquire has by grant of the king, to admit Philip Lewys (fn. 1) clerk to their house, and minister to him such maintenance as the said William or any other before him had, making him letters patent under the common seal of the house with mention of what he shall take, and writing again by the bearer what they will do; as William Buttiller is minded to demise his estate therein to the end that the said Philip may have the same, and the king has granted it to him for life as aforesaid.
