Condition, that he shall abide and perform the award of
Master Richard Cordoun doctor of laws, Stephen Forster of
London 'marchant' and William Soper of Suthampton arbitrators chosen on his behalf, Master Richard Maunynge, John
Reynwelle and John Somerton of London 'grocer' on behalf of
the said William, Thomas Horwode and Robert, touching all
actions etc. between the parties to this date, with proviso that
the award be made before the octaves of the Purification next,
and if the arbitrators may not agree, the award of an umpire to
be by them chosen before that date, so that it be made within six
days after the octaves aforesaid. |

in chancery 26 October this year by Geoffrey Massy knight, that

hurt or harm to the men, tenants or servants of Margaret wife

Norton citizen and draper of London, to Henry Raynford 'gentilman,' Hugh Wyche and Thomas Bataille citizens of London,
their heirs and assigns. Charter with warranty of all his lands,
rents, reversions and services in Bassyngeshawe street and in the
parish of St. Michael Bassyngeshawe London, namely a great
dwelling house there with a tenement adjoining on the south
side called the 'Cage' sometime of Peter Wotton draper, and
all houses, buildings, shops, cellars, solars, gardens etc., and of
sixteen shops with gardens etc. in the same street and parish,
to wit in 'Norton aley' sometime of the said Peter, with free
ingress and egress by the said alley, the said dwelling house and
'Cage' lying in length between a garden sometime of Adam
Fraunceys knight on the east and the high way of Bassyngeshawe
on the west, and in breadth between a great tenement called the
'Girdelereshalle' on the north and a tenement of Thomas Charleton
knight on the south, and the shops and gardens between a tenement
of the house of Clerkenwelle on the north and a great tenement
called the 'Beare'; John Pattesle being mayor of London,
William Wetenhale and John Sutton sheriffs, and Henry Frowyk
alderman of the ward. Witnesses: John Burton, John Brigge,

John duke of Norffolk to the king. Recognisance for 500l., to
be levied etc. in Norffolk. |

Condition, that he, Edward Nevyle lord Bergevenny, Elizabeth
his wife and Edmund Lenthale shall before the morrow of Ascension day next pay the king such fine as by the chancellor and
the court of chancery shall be limited for all the castles, towns,
lordships, manors, lands, rents etc. held in dower or otherwise
for life by Beatrice late countess of Arundell of the heritage of
the said duke, Elizabeth and Edmund, whereof it is found by
inquisitions taken after her death that they are heritable, and
which before this date have been given, granted, aliened, purchased or entered without licence of the king, or shall before that
date discharge themselves by letters patent of the king, by other
warrant or in other lawful manner if any there be, or prove that
there ought to be no fine for such gifts etc., or that none ought
to pertain to the king. |

Cancelled, for that on 24 December this year they did produce in
chancery letters patent whereby the king pardoned them for all gifts,
alienations, entries etc. as above mentioned. |
