Robert Bretlond bailiff of Herwych to John Bullok master of a ship called 'Nicholas' of Aberdene in Scotland, John Stevenson, David Blabour and Patrick de Fyffe merchants of Aberdene. Recognisance for 100l., to be levied etc. in Suffolk.
Condition, that whereas a general acquittance to the said Robert dated 14 December 32 Henry VI was delivered to master Richard Wetton one of the masters of the chancery to keep 'in meen hande,' under condition that, if they in person certified to master Thomas Kirkeby keeper of the rolls of chancery that they 'were restored of' the said ship with the apparel and goods therein taken in Orwell haven or the value thereof, he should deliver the acquittance to Robert, provided that before any livery thereof Robert should bind himself to them in 100l. to abide such award of the chancellor and viscount Beaumont as for the costs and damages borne by the Scots by reason of the said 'takyng' as should be made before next Easter, or else the acquittance should be 'relivered' to the Scots to be cancelled, and whereas John Stevenson, David and Patrik 4 January came in person before the said keeper at the House of Converts of London, and certified that John Bullok and they were restored (as above), Robert shall abide such award, if the same be made before Easter next. Condition English.

Somerset, to Richard Chokke and Joan his wife, and to the heirs and assigns of the said Richard. Demise, with warranty by John Boteler, of a messuage in Staunton Drewe called 'Champeneys,' half a virgate of land and meadow adjacent, a messuage opposite the 'Playstrete' wherein Thomas Forster dwells, half a virgate of land and meadow adjacent, a messuage now held by John Cadbury, a toft called 'Beldames,' a toft sometime in the tenure of Thomas Crede by the messuage of John Chokke in the 'Playstrete' called 'Tyledhous,' all lands, commons etc. to those messuages and tofts adjacent, the whole wood called 'Bowewode' within the lordship of Staunton Drewe by Chelleworth park, containing by estimation 16 acres, and 6 acres of land in the west field, 5 of them lying together in a furlong by the river running from Chewe to Staunton Drewe, and one in a furlong called 'Middelton.' Witnesses: Nicholas Saintlo esquire, John Chokke, Nicholas Lyons, John Champeneys, Richard Brugge. Dated 1 September 32 Henry VI.
John Boteler, Henry Champeneys and John Whittokesmede (as above) to William Clerk and Richard Brugge. Letter of attorney, appointing them to give Richard Chokke and Joan his wife seisin of the messuages, tofts, lands, wood etc. (above described). Dated (as the last).
John Boteler, Henry Champeneys and John Whittokesmede (as before) to Richard Chokke, Joan his wife and John their son for their lives and the life of the longest liver. Lease indented, with warranty by John Boteler, of the manor of Staunton Drewe without impeachment of waste, except divers messuages, tofts, lands etc. late parcels of the manor given before this date to the said Richard and Joan, rendering to the grantors, their heirs and assigns, one red rose at Midsummer if demanded for all services and demands.
