April 6.
Durham.
Henry earl of Northumberland, to the king. Recognisance for 2,000 marks, to be levied etc. in Northumberland.
Condition, that whereas by letters patent of 12 March last, the king did grant licence to Henry Percy earl of Northumberland and his executors, their deputies, proctors or assigns native or alien in any ports of the realm except Sandewich and Suthampton once or divers times as they please to ship in carracks, galleys or other ships so many sacks of wool, woollen cloths and pieces of tin that the customs and subsidies thereupon due, over and above 20s. by authority of parliament appointed for Calais and 6s. 8d. for the mayor and merchants of the staple of Calais of the subsidy upon wool, should amount to 6,000l., and export the same beyond the mountains or through the straits of Marrok, keeping the surplus of the custom and subsidy in their own hands up to that sum without impeachment, let or gainsaying of the king, his officers or ministers or any other person, within one year after such shipment the earl etc. shall certify into chancery under seal of some city or borough beyond the mountains that the wool was carried thither.

Gerard Woddryngton of Woddryngton co. Northumberland, John Carlell of Newcastle upon Tyne, John Elryngton of Espersheles esquires and John Roxburght of Alnewyk 'gentilman,' both co. Northumberland, to the king. Recognisance for 1,000 marks, to be levied etc. in the county and town aforesaid.
Like condition, mutatis mutandis, in regard to the earl.
Robert Fulbrook of Suthewerk co. Surrey 'peautrer,' to Robert Lyvelode of Suthewerk 'gentilman' and Stephen Aunsell citizen and 'peautrer' of London, their executors and assigns. Gift of all his goods, property and chattels within the realm and in other parts of the world, and all debts to him due; and he has put them in possession thereof by delivery of 2d. Dated 22 September, 36 Henry VI.
Memorandum of acknowledgment, 15 October.
Vacated because in the 36th year.
John Olyver citizen and cordwainer of London, to Robert Kirkham clerk, Thomas Stalbroke draper and Robert Basset 'salter' citizens of London, their executors and assigns. Gift of all his goods and chattels and all debts to him due. Dated 27 January, 35 Henry VI.
