Dec. 13. To the escheator in Devon. Order to meddle no more with the undermentioned manors in that county, held by Thomas Ormond, taken into the king's hands after the death of Anne his wife on 13 November last: and to give him seisin of the same: since it is learnt by inquisition before William Kelly, escheator in Devon, that Thomas Ormond and Anne his wife, the day she died, were seised in their demesnes as of fee of the manors of Rolstone, Milton Damerell, Stapilton, Cokebury, Heghen, Hewissh, Yenstowe (with advowson), Ernescombe, Westdowne, Clifford, Sheftrygge and Hankeford in the parishes of Bokelondbruer and Fristoke, the manors of Horton, Yaddebury, Hals with Anery, Uppecote in Widerigge, Reveton, Illersshe, Roocombe and Viraworthy in the parishes of Suttecombe, Bradworthi and Wike St. Pancras, and Petrismerlonde in the parishes of Merlond, Bukelondfilly, Litelham with the advowson of St. Swithin's church therein, Uppecote in Welcombe, Bukkissh and Bevisshill in the parishes of Kirketon and Poghill, a messuage and 30 acres of land in North Taweton, with the advowson of St. Peter's church therein, a fourth part of a toft, twenty acres of land and an acre of wood in Litletoriton with its advowson, the chantry of St. Mary Magdalen in Tadyporte, and of a messuage called the 'Scolehouse,' and an acre of meadow in Great Toriton in the same county: and they were seised of 6l. 13s. 4d. of rent arising out of 17 messuages, 7 carucates, 40 acres of meadow, 60 acres of wood, and 60 acres of heath in Raysshegh, 5s. of rent in Southmolton, 4s. of rent of two ferlings called 'Asherigge' in Westlegh: a messuage and a ferling in Stoddiston: a messuage and two ferlings in Brandisworthy, two messuages and two ferlings called 'Wayte' and 'More' in Sheftebeare: a messuage and three ferlings in Paisshcot: a messuage and two ferlings in Fenton: ten messuages, three tofts, a dovecot and 14 acres of land in Great Toriton, with messuage and ferling called 'Wyke' nearby: two tofts, a barn and 44 acres of land in Tadyporte, a toft and two ferlings in Codeworthy: a toft and ten acres called 'Herberdislonde' in Widefeld: a messuage and curtilage in Holdesworthy: a quarter of a toft called 'Millecote' and 100 acres of land in Ilfardescombe co. Devon. And the said Thomas and Anne had issue, Anne, wife of James Selynger esquire, and Margaret wife of William Boleyne knight; and Anne the elder held no other lands of the king in Devon, or any other in demesne or in service: and she died on 13 November last: and Thomas overlived her, and holds all the lands aforesaid for term of his life: and the manor of Ernescombe is held of the king by service of 1/16 knight's fee and 'Scoulehouse' and other lands in Great Toriton by simple fealty as of the castle of Toriton by reason of the forfeiture of Henry duke of Exeter: and the other manors are held of others than the king.
To the escheator in Somerset. Like orders, mutatis mutandis, for livery to Thomas Ormond of the manors of Quarum and Est Cranmere, Quarum being held of the king in chief as of the manor of Bernestaple and Est Cranmere of others: since by inquisition before William Case escheator etc. (as above).
To the escheator in Cornwall. Like orders as above, concerning a toft, 30 acres of land, 10 acres of meadow and 8 acres of wood in Pounstoke, and an annual rent of 6d. arising out of a messuage and 40 acres of land in Kilhampton held of the king in chief by Thomas and Anne Ormond, since by an inquisition before William Kelly then escheator etc.

Nov. 21. To the sheriff of Stafford for the time being. Order to pay John More alias Norrey 13l. 15s. a year for his life out of the issues of that county and the arrears since 2 August, 1 Henry VII, when the king by letters patent, granted him the same in comfirmation of a like amount granted him by the late king out of the farms of Wescombe and Bedwynde co. Wilts.

Arbitration by William Husee and Guy Fayrfax, justices of the king's Bench, between Richard Boston, prior of the Charterhouse in Axholme, and William Kyrkeby, prior of Kyrkeby Beller co. Leicester, concerning the title of the manor of Kyrkeby on Wrethike, whereby the prior of Charterhouse shall hold lands and tenements to the value of 41l. 6s. 8d. over all charges, with view frankpledge, waifs and strays: and the prior of Kyrkeby shall release to him his interest in lands etc. to the yearly value of 10l. 6s. 8d. and shall enjoy the residue of the other lands late of William Catesby in Kyrkeby to be leased to him under like conditions with a clause of application to the above arbitrators in the case of any future variance between them. The prior and convent of Kirkeby Bellers to John Morton, bishop of Ely, the chancellor. Declaration of a demise by John Catesby, Thomas Keevill etc. of all their lands in Kyrkeby on Wreak (see No. 149, p. 44) to the prior of the Charterhouse in Axholme, as a result of a petition before the bishop of Worcester, then chancellor, by the prior of Kyrkeby against John Catesby etc., whereby the said chancellor ordered the said defendants to make estate of the same to the said prior and convent; and further confirmation of the award in the preceding entry touching the sum of 10l. 6s. 8d. to be paid yearly to the prior of the Charterhouse, which declaration is to be annexed to the said judgement.
