Northampton.
To the mayor and bailiffs of Sandewich. Order to admit William Elys of Canterbury, Martin Petit of Rippil and John Richard of Sholdon or one of them, whom the abbot of St. Augustine Canterbury has made his attorneys, to do suit for him at the king's court of Sandewich in all pleas and plaints there moved for or against him; as for reasonable causes alleged before the council the abbot may not come thither in person to appoint attorneys.
Note that the [letter of] attorney was received by Robert de Faryngton clerk.
