To W. archbishop of Canterbury. Summons, with the clause premunientes, to a parliament at Westminster on Monday before All Saints next for making a treaty with Robert the king's cousin of Scotland etc. By K. and C.

The like to the abbot of St. Albans and 22 other abbots, the prior of Coventre and to John Radyngton prior of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in England.

The like to Edmund earl of Cantebrigge, Thomas earl of Kent the king's brother, and nine other earls, James de Audeley of Helegh and 47 others, of whom Henry Lescrope and two more are styled chivaler, [the last two names being a manifest interpolation, and in the nominative case].

To the sheriff of Kent. Order to cause two knights of the shire girt with the sword, two citizens of every city and two burgesses of every borough to be elected and come to the said parliament. It is the king's will that the sheriff be not elected, or any other sheriff, or any man of other condition than that specified above.
The like to singular the sheriffs throughout England, and to the said king of Castille and Leon duke of Lancastre, or to his chancellor in the duchy, for the said duchy.

Order to admit Peter Gyles (fn. 1) one of the king's minstrels to their house, and minister to him such maintenance as used to be granted by the earl of Richemond for the time being, called the maintenance of the earl of Richemond's beadsman, now in the king's gift by reason of the earldom being in his hand, and order to make the said Peter letters patent under their common seal with mention of what he shall take, writing again by the bearer what they will do. To William de Snelston mayor of Lincoln and the coroners of that city. Writ of supersedeas, by mainprise of John Wendlyngburgh of Norhamptonshire clerk, William de Rysum of Yorkshire, Roger de Messyngham and Humphrey Baudes of Lincolnshire, in favour of Simon de Messyngham whom, upon an information that while mayor by his own authority he discharged divers citizens of bearing the offices of mayor and bailiff according to their oath, taking of them sums of money and bonds, the king lately ordered the mayor and coroners under pain of forfeiting 100l. to arrest so as to have him before the king and council in the octaves of Michaelmas next.

Thomas de Bernolby master or warden of Shirbourne hospital in the diocese of Durham, the brethren and sisters thereof, to John de Bernolby brother of the said master. Release of all actions and claims. Dated 11 February 4 Richard II.
Memorandum of acknowledgment by the said Thomas of the foregoing writings at Wyndesore castle 18 March 6 Richard II, before Richard de Shawe canon of the king's free chapel of St. George within the castle by virtue of a dedimus potestatem which is on the file for this year.

Defeasance thereof, upon condition that the said Ivo and John Squiry pay 100l. at the day named.

Beddeford late of Thomas de Burton knight, the manors of Scampston, Knapton, Synelyngton, Tyveryngton, Lyverton, Byrdale and Yaresthorp, all lands in Appelton and the advowson of a chantry there, and the manors of Hirbourne in Herfordlythe and of Hilderwelle co. Bukingham, the reversion of the manors of Helpryngham and Scredyngton and of all lands, rents and services in Beker co. Lincoln held for life by Dame Elizabeth Latymer mother of Sir William Latymer, all which the said earl and knight, with Henry bishop of Worcester, John Knyvet knight, John Holte, John de Middelton, Henry de Meddebourne and Thomas de Kerdyngton had by charter of feoffment made by Sir William Latymer lord of Danby, and the said John Knyvet and John de Middelton are dead; with proviso that the said earl and knight shall not by any word herein contained be bound to warranty of the premises. Somerset, in favour of Ralph Godhynche at suit of the king and Thomas Swafham of Burwelle for leaving the service of the said Thomas before the term agreed.
Richard Smyth of Suthmymmes to John de Bukyngham parson of Harewe, his heirs and assigns. Charter with warranty of 3 acres of land in Haldewyke called 'Rouhacre' and half an acre of meadow in 'Prestesmede' in Suthmymmes, which the grantor had by gift of Richard Bedelle deceased. Witnesses: Thomas Derke, John Bokynge, Robert Wylyot, Richard Webbe, William Bedelle. Dated Suthmymmes, the feast of St. Benedict the Abbot 6 Richard II.

Lincoln.
To the mayor and bailiffs of Lincoln. Writ of supersedeas, by mainprise of Thomas de Carleton, Edward de Retford, Hugh de Kyrmyngton and Thomas Harworth, all of Lincoln, in favour of John de Hawardby 'masoun' and Roger his son; as at their suit, averring error in the record and process and in the rendering of judgment in a cause before the mayor and bailiffs in the city court without the king's writ, wherein they were defendants at suit of Robert Jagger for alleged trespass, and were convicted, and 7 marks 10s. was adjudged for damages to the plaintiff, the king lately ordered the mayor and bailiffs to send the record and process under their seals, and the writ which came to them, so that the king should view the same and deal etc.; and the said Thomas and the others have mainperned in chancery under a pain of 10 marks to have the said defendants before the king in the octaves of Michaelmas etc.
Aug. 15.
Lincoln.
To the mayor and bailiffs of Lincoln. (Like writ by the same mainprise) in favour of John de Hawardeby 'masoun' and Roger de Hawardby 'masoun' at suit of Robert 'Othe Mosse,' damages 20 marks.
