Westminster.
William Sparke parson of Solatton and William de Horbury clerk to John de Burton clerk. Recognisance for 60s., to be levied etc. of their lands and chattels and ecclesiastical goods in Salop.
Defeasance thereof, upon condition that if by record in the exchequer it be found that the ancestors of John Lestraunge of Blakemere knight paid relief for a barony, the said William and William shall pay 60s., over and above 40s. by them paid to John de Burton for the chamberlain's fee, as they are bound to do for lands of the heritage of the ancestors of John [Lestraunge].

To the sheriff of Norhampton. Writ of supersedeas, by mainprise of John Carbonell, William Tyngwyk, John Bontyng and John Markeby of London, in favour of Richard son of John de Cranesle the elder and Henry Markeby of London 'goldsmyth' at suit of the king before William de Skypwyth and William de Burgh justices of assize for their ransom for divers disseisins of John de Welton and Fina his wife.

Westminster.
To the sheriff of Somerset. Order by mainprise of Richard de Stapleton the younger, Geoffrey Pomeray of Somerton, Richard Sutton of Sutton and John Sparowe of Yevele of Somerset to set free John Babecary of Bristol merchant of the county of Bristol; as upon his complaint that before Walter Frompton late mayor of Bristol and John Woderove then clerk deputed to receive recognisances of debts at Bristol he made a recognisance for 96l. 13s. 4d. payable at a set term to John Henton of Bruggewater merchant of Somerset, whereof they after made an indenture of defeasance, one part whereof is with him, upon condition of his paying 48l. 6s. 8d., and that although he paid that sum, as he is ready to prove by an acquittance which is with him, John Henton is unlawfully suing for execution of the recognisance, the king commanded the justices of the Bench to view one part of that indenture, to summon the parties before them, to hear arguments on either side, and deal according to law etc.; and the complainant has shewn that he is imprisoned to the peril of his life, being grievously infirm; and the said Richard and the others have mainperned in chancery under a pain of 50l. to have him before the said justices whenever they will summon him.

Order by mainprise of John Bolton 'haberdassher,' William Harwode 'taillour,' John Barry 'dyer' and John Kyngeston of London 'dyer' to set free Master William Menesse clerk, imprisoned in default of finding mainpernors upon an information that he purposed to pass over sea contrary to the proclamations.

William Shrympilmerssh of London 'wodemonger' to Thomas de Stanley clerk. Recognisance for 10l., to be levied etc. of his lands and chattels in the city of London.
Memorandum of defeasance, upon condition that the said William pay 100s. on the day named.

To W. archbishop of Canterbury. Order upon his allegiance, in consideration of the grave perils which threaten the church and realm of England, to summon a convocation in the church of St. Paul London or elsewhere on the morrow of St. Martin next, and to move the clergy of the province to grant the king a subsidy, certifying in chancery the amount thereof and the terms of payment; as the archbishop is not unaware how that the king's enemies of France and their allies have many times invaded the realm by land and sea, wherefore the king must needs incur great cost for defence of the church and realm and of the people.

Quitclaim with warranty of three messuages, 259 acres of land, 23 acres of meadow and 29s. of rent with the bodies of neifs and all that goes with them in Batricheseye, Wandlesworth and Hayforde.
