Westminster.
To William Barwelle escheator in Herefordshire. Order to give David Pontan, whose fealty the king has taken, livery of a messuage, 54½ acres of land and 4 perches of wood in Seyntussill in the march of Wales, saving his relief if due to the king: as lately it was found by inquisition, taken before John Lucy late escheator in Herefordshire and the march of Wales adjacent, that David Vaghan at his death held the premises of John son and heir of Lawrence de Hastynges earl of Pembroke, a minor in the late king's wardship, by knight service and the service of 16s. a year of rent; that the same came to the late king's hands by David's death and by reason of his heir's nonage, that Nest was his cousin and next heir, namely daughter of Walter his son, that she died on Wednesday before Midsummer 38 Edward III, and that David Pontan is her cousin and next heir, namely son of Isabel daughter of David Vaghan, and on 1 September 2 Richard II was aged 28 years and upwards; and on 20 February 8 Richard II the king committed the keeping of the premises by a mainprise to William Hervy, and after upon petition of David Pontan that he would revoke that commission and give him livery of those lands, the king ordered the sheriff to give the said William notice to be in chancery at a day now past to shew cause wherefore the commission ought not to be revoked and livery so given, at which day the said William appearing in person could say nought to the purpose, wherefore it was determined that the same should be revoked and livery given to the petitioner.

To Alan de Kyrketon escheator in Bedfordshire. Order to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with a third part of the manor of Kempston, delivering to Eleanor late the wife of Giles Daubenay knight any issues thereof taken; as the king has learned by inquisition, taken by the escheator, that at his death the said Giles held no lands in that county in chief nor of others, but held that third part as jointly enfeoffed with the said Eleanor in chief by knight service by gift of John de Galmylton clerk and John Mauleverer made with the king's licence to them and the heirs of their bodies; and for 20s. by her paid in the hanaper the king has respited until the quinzaine of Michaelmas next the said Eleanor's homage and fealty.

Westminster.
To Reynold de Everyngham of Baxton, William de Chaworth, John de Leek, Thomas de Staunton, Thomas Hercy, William de Nevyl of Rolleston, Hugh de Auneslay and the sheriff of Nottingham, appointed with Robert de Morton arrayers of men at arms etc. in Nottinghamshire. Order to execute their commission without awaiting the presence of the said Robert, whom the king has discharged; as he is too aged to travail without great hurt.

Bristol.
To Robert Bealknap and William Rikhille justices of assize in Dorset. Order, upon petition made on behalf of Thomas West, who is at Calais on the king's service, to prorogue until his return to England an assize of novel disseisin concerning lands in Dorset against him and others arraigned by Henry Burdoun. By letter of the signet.
