Westminster.
John Bretoun, Richard Glyvyan and Robert Trenewyth to John de Ravenser clerk keeper of the hanaper of chancery. Recognisance for 25 marks 4s. 8d., to be levied etc. in Cornwall.
Memorandum of defeasance, upon condition that they pay a moiety of that sum at the day named.

To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas in respect of a distress made upon the abbot of Glastonbury, Peter Courtenay and Walter Clopton, lately appointed with Nicholas de Audeley, Guy de Bryen, Ivo Fitz Wareyn, Thomas de Hungerford, William Bonevyle, John Barre, James Fitz James and John Tomere to make inquisition by whose default the walls, dikes, gutters, sewers etc. upon the sea coast in Somerset are broken in divers places by ebb and flow of the sea and by flooding of fresh water, so that for lack of repair much damage has happened in times past, and order to make due process against the said Nicholas and the others; as that commission came not to the hands of the said abbot, Peter and Walter, nor have they meddled in aught therein contained, as the king has learned by credible witness.
Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 1,000l., made in chancery at Westminster 25 January this year by Richard Mewes, William Houton, John Arblaster and John Leche for Richard Beckot, and of an undertaking by him under the same pain, that he shall do or procure no hurt or harm to Stephen Heyme of Winchester.
Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 100l., made in chancery at Westminster 28 January this year by William Harewelle of Berkshire, John Bukmore and John Henle of Warwickshire, John Baudrike of Worcestershire and John Molynton of Cheshire for William Jones, Stephen Walsokene and John Belynge chaplains, and of an undertaking by the said chaplains under the same pain, that they shall do or procure no hurt or harm to Walter Almaly dean of Wyndesore, or other the canons, their ministers and servants.

Charter with warranty of the yearly farm of 10l. payable on the site of the manor of Westhorndoun co. Essex by Hugh Crane, who holds the said manor, the advowson excepted, by lease of the grantor for five years from Michaelmas 11 Richard II, also of the advowson aforesaid, and the reversion of the said manor. Witnesses: Sir John Gildesbourgh knight, Geoffrey Dersham, Thomas Belhous, John Stodeye, William Gristede, William Sautry, Thomas Malgraf. (Like) charter with warranty of a farm of 12 marks payable by Geoffrey Dersham, who holds by lease of the grantor until Michaelmas next a moiety of the manor of Nevenden, the moiety of the advowson excepted, which moiety of manor and advowson was of Robert father of the grantor; also of the said moiety of the advowson, and the reversion of the said moiety of the manor. Witnesses: Edmund Peverel, Nicholas fitz Richard, Robert Flemynk, William Grystede, Stace Gerard, John Stamer, Martin Stamer. Dated Nevenden (as the last). French.

(Like) charter with warranty of a farm of 10l. 13s. 4d. payable at the site of the manor of Southalle in Pakelesham by Thomas Stanbregge for two great marshes in Pakelesham and Great Stanbregge, one called Tillewierde the other Derwieshope, which he holds for ten years from Michaelmas 11 Richard II by lease of the grantor, and of the reversion of the said marshes. (Like) charter with warranty of a yearly farm of 12l. payable at the site of the manor called Southalle by William Totham, John Wyot, John Aston, Nicholas Coggessale, William Geir and William Gray, executors of William Pakelesham who took of the grantor a lease for ten years from Michaelmas 11 Richard II of the said manor and appurtenances in Pakelesham and Hokkele; also of the reversion of the said manor. Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against William Berarde and Richard de Fylongleye, lately appointed to survey all manors, hamlets, honours, lordships, towns, lands, fees, parks, woods, chaces, warrens, fisheries etc. of the king in Norffolk and Suffolk and all profits, revenues etc. thereto pertaining, and to cause them to be extended, and order to release any distress made for that cause; as they received not that commission for execution, nor meddled in aught therein contained, as they have made oath in chancery.
To the sheriffs of London. Writ of supersedeas, by mainprise of John Frome, John Philips, William Ridell and Walter Broun of London, in favour of Thomas Whistan chaplain at suit of David ap Adam clerk averring threats.

Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against John de Fallesley knight, lately appointed with others a justice to survey walls, sewers etc. on the coast of the river Thames between London bridge and Grenewyche, and by men of Surrey to make inquisition by whom defect or damage has happened, and order to release any distress upon him made, proceeding nevertheless against others who meddled therein; as that commission was not delivered to the said John, nor did he receive it for execution, nor meddle in aught therein contained.

Quitclaim with warranty of all lands and woods in Morton, Hermethorp, Calthorp, Dyke and Lounde by Toft sometime of Henry the father, and all profits thereof. Writ of supersedeas in respect of their demand against Robert de Swynburne knight to answer for the farms due of Essex and Hertfordshire and the king's debts etc., although by letters patent of 1 December last the king committed to him the keeping of those counties during pleasure, so that he should render such farms and answer for such debts; as for particular causes the king has removed him and discharged him of that office. Alice daughter of Roger Barbour of Sleford to John Parke, his heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of two messuages with appurtenances in the town and territory of Lafforde, one in the 'Southgate' of New Lafforde between a messuage sometime of John de Kyma and the public watercourse, the other in the 'Northgate' thereof between messuages sometime of Bartholomew de Helughton and Thomas de Sleforde, which two messuages were sometime of William Broune of Sleforde and came after by inheritance to the said Alice.
