Westminster.
To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against Clement de Skelton, appointed with Peter Tillyoll late escheator in Cumberland to make inquisition there whether wheat, malt, oats and other implements (utensilia) were without licence of the king exported to Scotland by certain lieges of Cumberland for sustenance and refreshment of his enemies or no; as the said Clement has made oath in chancery that that commission was not delivered to him, neither did he meddle in aught therein contained, having no knowledge of it.
Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 40l., made in chancery 30 January this year by Henry Thorp of Gloucestershire, Edmund Haute, Seman Tonge, both of Kent, and William Tue of Norhamptonshire for Richard de Hoo knight of Kent, that he shall do or procure no hurt or harm to John Copyn chaplain.
Also of a mainprise that day made by the said Richard for John Bowyer his servant in regard to John Copyn.
