April 12.
Westminster.
To the sheriff of Kent for the time being. Order to pay to John Harleston knight 100 marks a year for life and the arrears since 27 February last, on which date the king granted him 100 marks a year of the issues of that county for life or until the king should make him provision for life of 100 marks a year of land or rent.
To the sheriff of York for the time being. Order to pay to Richard of York, son of Edmund duke of York, 100l. a year until by marriage or otherwise provision shall be made him by the king of 500 marks a year of land, and to pay him the arrears since 3 February last, on which date with assent of the council the king granted him 100l. a year of the issues of the said county which Isabel duchess of York deceased had, until etc. (as before).
Order to the sheriff of Worcester for election of a verderer in Worcestershire instead of John Aleyn of the Wyche, who is dead.
Like writ, mutatis mutandis, in regard to Roger Corbet.

Order to the sheriff of Norffolk for election of a coroner instead of Robert Cursoun, who is insufficiently qualified.
April 4.
Westminster.
To William Thirnynge. Order, for particular causes moving the king and council and specially affecting the king, to have before the king all records and processes before the said William and his fellows, justices appointed to hear and determine certain trespasses against Edmund duke of York committed by Robert de Feere and others at Wakefeld, Conesburgh, Sandale and Hattefelde, with the original writs etc., or to send the same under seal, so that the king shall have them in the quinzaine of Easter next, in order to deal further according to law and the custom of England.
April 18.
Westminster.
To the master of the king's mint within the Tower of London and the controller thereof, and to all workmen, moneyers and other ministers of the same. Writ de intendendo in favour of Andrew Neuport the king's esquire, to whom the king has granted for life the office of warden thereof with the wages, fees and profits thereto pertaining, as held of the king's grant by Guy de Rouclif clerk deceased.
April 19.
Westminster.
To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Order to allow John de Ravenser the king's clerk, keeper of the hanaper of chancery, in his account 105l. 16s. 6d. by him delivered for the carriage of the chancery rolls from London to Leuton and thence to York, the carriage of them again from York to London, and of wax, parchment etc. to the office of the hanaper pertaining from London to York and thence again to London, with empty tuns bought to put the rolls in, and wax and canvas for covering the same, for the expenses of Henry Maupas clerk, John de Rolles and others to the number of six persons riding with the carriage, and of their horses, and other small expenses about the carriage thereof, and 6l. 3s. paid by order of Thomas archbishop of York the chancellor to William Haunay clerk for the wages of carpenters, for great timber, boards and nails and for other costs upon the making and repair of a court (placee) newly appointed in the White hall Westminster for the office and session of the chancellor and the clerks of chancery, and another for the hanaper.

To the bailiffs and commonalty of Norhampton. Order for election of a mayor instead of John Fox, whom for particular causes the king has discharged.
April 23.
Westminster.
To the constable of the Tower of London and his lieutenant. Order to receive Thomas Bromleye of Coventre from one who shall deliver him on behalf of the king, and to keep him in custody in the Tower until further order.
April 25.
Westminster.
To Henry Bailly of Suthwerke. Appointment as coroner this time only, to view the bodies of Adam Botman and John Turnour there wickedly slain, and act as pertains to the coroner's office; as the king has learned that for default of execution of that office in Surrey on that side, the coroners dwelling in distant parts of the county it is said, those bodies have been no small time unburied contrary to the law and custom of the realm; and the king's will is that they shall lie no longer without burial.

Westminster.
Order to the mayor and bailiffs of Leycestre for election of a coroner in that town instead of John Coke of Leycestre, who is abiding over sea, wherefore he may not attend that office.
April 28.
Westminster.
Order to the sheriff of Wiltesir for election of a coroner instead of John Daunteseye knight, who dwells in the uttermost border of the county, wherefore he may not conveniently exercise that office.
