May 1.
Westminster.
To the chief butler or his representative in the port of Kyngeston upon Hull for the time being. Order every year at the feast of Allhallows to deliver to the prior and convent of the house of St. Michael of the Carthusian order by the town of Kyngeston upon Hull and to their successors one tun of wine of Gascony, according to the king's letters patent of 18 April 5 Richard II.

Westminster.
To the bailiffs of the city of Cicestre for the time being. Order to pay to Thomas son and heir of Thomas Holand earl of Kent a fee farm of 36l. a year, and the arrears since the earl's death; as it is found by inquisition, taken before John Brooke escheator in Sussex, that at his death the said earl held in chief a fee farm of 36l. to be taken yearly in the said city of the bailiffs for the time being; and having taken the homage and fealty of Thomas the son, on 16 July last the king commanded livery to be given him of his father's lands etc., and the issues thereof taken.

To the abbot and convent of Kirkestall for the time being. Like order concerning a fee farm of 90l. issuing from divers lands in Colyngham and Compton; as it is found by inquisition, taken before Peter de Bukton late escheator in Yorkshire, that the said earl died seised of that farm, to be taken yearly of the abbot and convent.

To the tenants of the manor of Idenne co. Sussex. Like order, mutatis mutandis, concerning a fee farm of 4l. 7s. to be taken at Idenne of the tenants of the said manor, upon the finding of an inquisition taken before John Brooke the escheator.

To the sheriff of Worcester for the time being. Order to pay to Thomas de Percy knight earl of Worcester 20l. a year and the arrears since 29 September last, on which date the king advanced the said knight to be earl of Worcester, and granted him 20l. a year, to be taken by him and the heirs male of his body of the issues of that county.
May 4.
Westminster.
To John Macclesfelde the king's clerk, keeper of the great wardrobe. Order, so long as he shall stand keeper thereof and Marmaduke Kirkeby shall be parson of St. Andrew Baynardescastell London, to pay the said Marmaduke 40s. a year, and to pay him the arrears since he has been parson; as in recompense for tithes, oblations, obventions and divers other profits etc. which the parsons of that church used to take before John de Beauchamp of Warrewyke knight deceased, purchaser of certain tenements in that parish wherein great number of the parishioners were dwelling, caused those tenements to be cast down and an inn to be new built for his dwelling, by letters patent, confirmed by the king on 23 March 1 Richard II, the late king, having purchased the said ground and inn of the said knight's executors, of his grace granted to Thomas Appelby late parson of the said church and to his successors 40s. a year of his alms to be taken of the ground and inn aforesaid by the hands of the keeper of his wardrobe so long as by the king's appointment he should dwell there, or of other the tenants or occupiers thereof.

To the chief butler or his representative in the city of London or the town of Kyngeston upon Hull for the time being. Order every year at Christmas to deliver to John de Scarle the king's clerk one tun or two pipes of wine of Gascony, and to deliver to him the arrears since 27 November 9 Richard II, on which date in consideration of long and praiseworthy service to himself and the late king, the king granted the said John for life one tun or two pipes a year of such wine, to be taken in the city or town aforesaid.

To the collectors of the petty custom in the port of Bristol for the time being. Order to pay to Peter de Courtenay the king's cousin 100l. a year for life, and the arrears since Michaelmas 7 Richard II; as upon his petition by letters patent of 25 November that year the king granted him for life 100l. a year of the issues of the petty custom in that port.

To John Brooke escheator in Sussex. Order to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with the manor of Sadelescombe, delivering to the now prior of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in England any issues thereof taken; as it is found by inquisition, taken before the escheator and other commissioners of the king, that brother Philip Thame late prior was thereof sometime seised in right of the Hospital, and made a demise thereof to Thomas de Nerforde and Alice his wife for their lives, that the said Thomas died, that the said Alice granted her estate thereof to Richard earl of Arundell who forfeited to the king, that she died about three years since, that the earl continued his estate until her death, and afterward occupied the manor as tenant at will of John de Radyngton late prior of the Hospital and Walter Grendoun now prior thereof, that on the day of his forfeiture the earl had no freehold, nor any estate therein but by sufferance and at will of the said now prior, and that by colour of a judgment against the earl rendered in the last parliament the same is among other things seized into the king's hand; and proclamation being made in chancery for any who would inform the king and council wherefore restitution thereof and of the issues thereof taken ought not to be made, when no man appeared, with advice of the justices, serjeants at law and others of the council learned in the law it was determined that the king's hand should be removed.

To John Routhe knight escheator in Yorkshire. Order to take of Christiana who was wife of William Percy of Castelleneuton an oath etc., and in presence of the next friends of William his son and heir, a minor in ward of the king, to assign her dower.

To the sheriff of York. Order by mainprise of John de Routhe knight, Robert de Rudstan, John de Wilton and Thomas Feriby of Yorkshire to set free Stephen de Neuton of Eske, taken and imprisoned by the guardians of the peace in Yorkshire it is said; as John de Routhe and the others have mainperned in chancery that he shall do or procure no hurt or harm to John More of Middelton.

To the sheriffs of London. Order, for particular causes laid before the king and council, to deliver to the bearer Lawrence Bryght, who is imprisoned in Newegate gaol it is said, to be brought to the Tower of London. By C.
To the constable of the Tower of London and his lieutenant. Order to receive Lawrence Bryght from one who shall deliver him on behalf of the king, and to keep him in custody in the Tower until further order. By C.

To the constable of the Tower of London and his lieutenant. Order to deliver Lawrence Bright, who is in the Tower by command of the king, to Simon Blakburne serjeant at arms, to be taken to Wyndesore castle and there to abide in prison until further order.
To the constable of Wyndesore castle and his lieutenant. Order to receive Lawrence Bright from Simon Blakburne serjeant at arms, and to keep him in custody in the prison within the castle until further order.

Order to the sheriff of Yorkshire for election of a coroner instead of Robert Percehay knight, who is too sick to do what pertains to that office.
