Calixtus III (Alfonsus Borja (Borgia), cardinal priest of SS. Quatuor Coronati, called ‘Valentinus’ or ‘Valentinensis,’ the cardinal of Valencia), elected at Rome in the Vatican Palace, 8 (fn. 1) April, 1455, crowned 20 April (the beginning of the pontifical year), died at Rome, 6 August, 1458.
1458–1464. Pius II (Aeneas Silvius Piccolomini, cardinal priest of St. Sabina's, called ‘Senensis,’ the cardinal of Siena), elected at Rome in the Vatican Palace, 19 August, 1458, crowned 3 Sept. (the beginning of the pontifical year), died at Ancona, 14 August, 1464.
