To the prior of Buttivant (Botthonie) in the diocese of Cloyne (Clonen.), and the archdeacon and Maurice Ossuliband, canon, of Cloyne. Mandate, as below. The pope has been informed by Donatus Oconbagyth, priest, of the diocese of Cloyne, that Donald Ossuliband, perpetual vicar of the parish church of Drissean alias Bylmide [sic] in the diocese of Ardfert, has committed simony, dilapidated the goods of the said vicarage, and for several years has not resided therein; and the recent petition of the said Donatus contained that the fruits etc. of the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Raydleryn in the said diocese are so slight that its holder cannot be maintained, and that if that vicarage (which is void because John Omorchud, having obtained it by canonical collation, has held it for more than a year without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation) were united to that of Drissean for the said Donatus's lifetime he could be more decently maintained and could serve both churches. The pope therefore hereby orders the above three, if the said Donatus (who was lately dispensed by papal authority on account of illegitimacy, as the son of a clerk and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, and who in virtue thereof has been so ordained) will accuse the said Donald before the above three, to summon Donald and others concerned, and if they find the foregoing to be true, to deprive and remove him from the said vicarage of Drissean, and in that event to collate and assign that vicarage, value not exceeding 10 marks sterling, to Donatus, and moreover to unite thereto for his lifetime the said vicarage of Raydleryn, value not exceeding 2 marks sterling. Licence and faculty to resign to the ordinary etc. the said deanery, which is a major elective dignity with cure, simply or for exchange, without requiring licence of the apostolic see; and for the ordinary etc. to carry out such exchange, provided that the person with which it is to be exchanged possess similar licence and faculty. The said ordinary etc. is to certify the clerks of the papal Camera, or its collector or sub-collector in those parts, of the date of collation and the name of the person to whom the deanery shall be collated.
