1469. 3 Kal. May. (29 April.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 72)	To the archdeacon of Ossory. Mandate to collate and assign to Theobald Botiller, clerk, of the diocese of Cashel, who alleges that he is of a noble race of earls and barons, and is in his twelfth year, if found fit, a canonry of Lismore and the prebend of Donachmor alias Kylttahan therein, value not exceeding 12 marks sterling, so long void, in a way which the pope holds to be expressed hereby, that their collation has lapsed to the apostolic see; summoning and removing Thomas Cornis, dean of Cork, who has for between two and three years detained possession without a title, and on account of whose power the said Theobald cannot safely meet him in the city and diocese of Lismore. The pope hereby grants him special indult to receive and retain them, notwithstanding his late constitution against the making of provision of cathedral canonries and prebends to persons unless they have completed their fourteenth year, etc. Dignum arbitramur. 1469. 14 Kal. May. (18 April.) t. Peter's, Rome. (f. 86d.)	To the archdeacon and the chancellor and Dermit Odomagayn, a canon, of Ross. Mandate, as below. The pope has learned that a canonry of Cork and the prebend of Instrim [sic] alias Baleymalmihil therein are void by the resignation of Maurice Gogan to Jordan, bishop of Cork, and that the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Instrim in the diocese of Cork is void by the said bishop's deprivation of Thady Osychayn for his faults and demerits, and that it has been void so long that by the Lateran Statutes its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see; although Donatus Orywardain, clerk, of the diocese of Cloyne, has for between one and two years unduly detained possession of the said canonry and prebend, under pretext of a collation by the metropolitan on the ground that the right of collation had lapsed, which was not the case, (fn. 2) and although Robert Osyhyhayn, priest, of the same diocese, has unduly detained possession of the said vicarage for between four and five years, by his own temerity, and without any title or tittle of other right. (fn. 3) The pope therefore orders the above three to collate and assign to David Ohalynayn, priest, of the diocese of Cork (who was lately dispensed by papal authority on account of illegitimacy, as the son of an abbot of the order of St. Augustine and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, after which, he having been so promoted, provision was made to him by authority of the ordinary of the said canonry and prebend, void as above, without his having obtained any other dispensation on account of the said defect, and who from fear of the power of the said Donatus and Robert cannot safely meet them in the city or diocese of Cork), the said canonry and prebend and vicarage, value together not exceeding 12 marks sterling; summoning and removing the said Donatus and Robert and any other unlawful detainers. Mandate to collate and assign to Melerus de Burgo, clerk, of the diocese of Limerick, a canonry of Limerick and the prebend of St. Munchins (Sancti Mansini) therein, value not exceeding 16 marks sterling, void at the apostolic see, and therefore ipso facto reserved to the pope by the promotion, made by Pius II, of Matthew, bishop of Killaloe (Laonien.), to that church, and by his consecration administered to him by order of the said pope at the said see; whether it be void as stated, or by the promotion and consecration of William, bishop of Limerick, who held them before the promotion of the said bishop Matthew, and his own, or by the resignations of William Aclabarde, or Donald Micgillephadra[i]g, or Bernard Ybryayn, or Thady [son] of Matthew Macconnara (or Maccomnara, recte Macconmara), or in any other way.Dignum arbitramur. 5 Kal. July. (27 June.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 182.)	To the abbot of Hy in the diocese of Sodor, and the archdeacon of Sodor. Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Donaldi, priest, of the diocese of Sodor (who was lately dispensed by papal authority on account of illegitimacy, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, after which, having been so promoted, he obtained by canonical collation the parish church of St. Mary, Arayn, in the said diocese, which he afterwards resigned), the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of St. Fincheanus in the said diocese, value not exceeding 5l. sterling, void by the death of Patrick Felani; although Patrick Calui, a monk of the monastery of St. Columba, O.S.B., in the said diocese, who is to be summoned [and removed], has, without any canonical dispensation for the purpose, unduly detained possession between two and three years. The pope further dispenses him to receive and retain it, and to resign it, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleases, notwithstanding the said defect, etc. Vite etc. (P. and M. Amici. P.xxx. It is therefore cancelled, as explained in a marginal note near the beginning, viz. Cassata et alibi registrata propter nimiam appostillam, P. (de Varris.).]

Mandate to collate and assign to Dermit Omananayn, priest, of the diocese of Emly, the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Fendimur in the diocese of Limerick, of the patronage of the prior of Cathir, O.S.A., in the diocese of Lismore, with cure and value not exceeding 7 marks sterling, so long void [in a manner not stated] that its collation has by the Lateran Statutes lapsed to the apostolic see; summoning and removing Dermit Orawchayn, priest, of the said diocese of Limerick, who has unduly detained possession for about four years, and from fear of whose power the said Dermit Oman[an]ayn cannot safely meet him in the city or diocese of Limerick; whether it be so void, or by the death of Donatus Yllowbaidh, or by the resignation of the said Dermit Orawchayn, or in any other way.
