To the dean of Ardfert. Mandate to collate and assign to Dermit Osulywayin, (fn. 2) clerk, of the diocese of Ardfert, if found fit, the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Dromtharib in the said diocese, value not exceeding 8 marks sterling, so long void by the resignation of Dermit Ylynnyna to John, bishop of Ardfert, that by the Lateran Statutes its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although Eugenius Osulywayn, priest, of the said diocese, has detained possession for between four and five years, without any title, but by his own temerity; summoning and removing the said Eugenius and any other unlawful detainer. To Donald Ohirlehin, a canon of Cork. Mandate to collate and assign to Dermit Ogarnay (?recte Ogaruay), clerk, of the diocese of Cloyne (Clonen.), the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Leyban alias Baycloy in the said diocese, of lay patronage, with cure of souls and value not exceeding 6 marks sterling, so long void (because Denis Osyhytayn, having obtained it by canonical collation, held it for more than a year without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation) that by the Lateran Statutes its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although Thomas Obregyn, priest, of the said diocese, has by his own authority and de facto, without any title or other tittle of right, held possession for about five years, but less than six, from fear of whose power the said Dermit cannot safely meet him in the city and diocese of Cloyne; summoning and removing the said Thomas and any other unlawful detainer.Dignum etc. (F. and A. de Moncia. To the abbot of Melros in the diocese of Glasgow. Mandate, as below. The recent petition of Andrew Pringil, priest, of the diocese of Glasgow, contained that on the voidance of the parish church of Dowglas in the said diocese, of lay patronage, by the death of James Lindesay, William Dowglas, layman, patron of the said church in virtue of the guardianship (fn. 3) of the lordship of Dowglas, committed to him by James, king of Scots, to whom the said lordship belonged, presented the said Andrew within the lawful time to the present vicars-general of Andrew, bishop of Glasgow, then in remote parts, and that the said vicars have wrongfully refused to institute him. The pope has learned, moreover, that the said church is still void as above, although Isabel, countess of Angus, untruly claiming to be the patron by reason of a third part of the said lordship, due to her by the custom of the country as far as regards usufruct only, (fn. 4) has presented Alexander Belsis, priest, of the said diocese, to the said vicars, who have instituted him, in virtue of which presentation and institution he has obtained possession, and has detained it for some months but less than a year. He therefore orders the above abbot to collate and assign the said church, value not exceeding 30l. sterling, to the said Andrew, if found fit, summoning and removing the said Alexander and any other unlawful detainer. To the abbot of Molana (Insula Sancti Melanfyd), the abbot of St. Mary's, Inishlounaght (de Surio), and the abbot of SS. Cohanus and Brogamus [recte Broganus], in the diocese of Lismore. Mandate to collate and assign to Dermit Macmachona, clerk, of the diocese of Limerick, if found fit, the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Kylkydy in the said diocese, value not exceeding 12 marks sterling, which by ancient custom belongs to the presentation of the prior and convent of the monastery of St. Edmund, King and Martyr, Hathassel, O.S.A., in the diocese of Cashel, became void because Cornelius Macmachona, after having obtained it by canonical collation, held possession of it for more than a year without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation, and has been void so long that by the Lateran Statutes its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although the said Cornelius detained it for about six years after the said year, subsequently resigning it, and although, moreover, Maurus Obreyn alias Omukom, priest, of the same diocese was, after the said lapse and resignation, presented within the lawful time by the then prior Edmund and the convent of the said monastery to William, bishop of Limerick, and by that bishop instituted by his ordinary authority, under pretext of which presentation and institution he took possession, and has detained it for other six years; summoning and removing the said Maurus (from fear of whose power and the excessive favour which will be shown to him by the said bishop William, the said Dermit has no hope of obtaining justice in the city and diocese of Limerick), and any other unlawful detainer. To the abbots of Paisley (de Pasleto) and Kelso (de Calco), in the dioceses of Glasgow and St. Andrews, and the dean of Reims. Mandate to collate and assign to Nicholas Ros, clerk, of the diocese of St. Andrews, (who was lately dispensed by authority of the ordinary on account of illegitimacy, as the son of a married man and a married woman, to be made a clerk, and who, after he had been made a clerk, was dispensed by papal authority to be promoted to all, [even] holy orders and receive and retain any mutually compatible benefices with or without cure, of any number and kind, even if canonries and prebends, major or principal dignities, etc.), the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Kilpatrick in the diocese of Glasgow, value not exceeding 10l. sterling, void by the resignation of Nicholas Graham, made without the Roman court, to the present bishop of Glasgow, and by that bishop admitted by his ordinary authority.
