Pius II (Aeneas Silvius Piccolomini, cardinal priest of St. Sabina's, called ‘Senensis,’ the cardinal of Siena), elected at Rome in the Vatican Palace, 19 Aug., and crowned 3 Sept., 1458 (the beginning of the pontifical year), died at Ancona, 14 Aug., 1464.
1464–1471. Paul II (Peter Barbo, cardinal priest of St. Mark's), elected at Rome in the Vatican Palace, 30 Aug., and crowned 16 Sept., 1464 (the beginning of the pontifical year), died at Rome, 26 July, 1471.
