Footnotes

  • 1. On the back of the volume: Anno xi. liber 7 [sic], and on an end-paper at the beginning of the volume: Anno xi. to. 10 [sic].
  • 2. Londoniensis. If ‘Londoniensis’ is not an error, this is a very rare instance of the employment of English elergy as exeentors of papal mandates in non-English ecclesiastieal affairs. ‘Londoniensis’ may, however, be an error for some neighbouring eathedral church on the continent, e.g. Landoniensis (Laon) or Leodiensis (Liége). Lodovensis or Lodevensis (Lodève in the province of Narhonne) and Lundmensis (Lund in Sweden) may probably be exeluded.
