1484/5. 4 Kal. Feb. (29 Jan.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 11r.)	To David Setoun, rector of the parish church of Federkean in the diocese of St. Andrews, M.A. Collation and provision to him, who is a priest and of noble, even baronial race, of the said church, yearly value not exceeding 30l. sterling, still void by the death of Alexander de Ogilvy extra R.c., although William, archbishop of St. Andrews, has detained it for between two and three years, under pretext of its union to the archiepiscopal mensa of St. Andrews made by papal authority, but after the said union had been revoked by the constitutions of Sixtus IV; whether it be void as above, or by the death of James de Sancto Claro extra R.c., before the letters of provision made to him by the said pope had been drawn up, or be void in any other way, etc.; with mandate executory hereby to the bishops of Glasgow and Aberdeen, and the provost of Dunglas in the diocese of St. Andrews, to induct him and remove the said archbishop and any other unlawful detainer. 1490. 17 Kal. Jan. (16 Dec.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 71r.)	To Miles Ocennamayn, Maurice also Ocennamayn, and Cornelius Oconceyird (?), canons of Tuam. Mandate, as below. The pope has been informed by Gerald Ococlib (?), a canon of Tuam, and perpetual vicar of the parish church of Robo [sic] in Conmaicnecuile, in the diocese of Tuam, that David Ocynaid, perpetual vicar of the parish church of Cayllmadlara [sic] in the said diocese, has taken money from the parishioners of the said vicarage of Kallmadlara [sic] and of another church for administering to them the sacraments, and has refused the sacraments to those who refused to pay, thereby incurring simony and the penalties therefor. The pope, therefore, seeing that if this be true the said David has rendered himself unworthy of the said vicarage of Kayllmallara [sic], hereby orders the above three, if the said Gerald (who was dispensed by papal authority on account of illegitimacy, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all holy orders and receive and retain a benefice even with cure, in virtue of which he was so promoted, and obtained by canonical collation the said perpetual vicarage of Robo [sic] in Conmaicnecuile, the yearly value of which and of the canonically annexed vicarage of Robo [sic] in Caira (?), (fn. 2) in the said diocese, does not exceed 5 marks sterling), will accuse the said David before them, to summon the latter, and if they find the foregoing to be true, to deprive him of the said vicarage of Killmallara, (fn. 3) and remove him, and in that event to collate and assign the said vicarage of Kilmallara, yearly value not exceeding 3 marks sterling, to the said Gerald. The pope further specially dispenses him to retain with the said vicarage of Kilmallara the said vicarage of Robo [sic] in Conmaicnecuile, notwithstanding the said defect, etc. Vite ac morum.
